put my su mount in (get it, best mod) anyway i took my old one out and it was torn

Did you notice anything that would indicate it was torn like that?

They told me the mount is oil filled and not only could I look for vibration but oil leaks. Is this accurate?

My dealer said that they have heard of torn mounts but not broken however I think its because they changed it early on like you did.

no oil.. just a poorly designed mount... bolt was loose at the bottom too..
