Damned 'loose gascap' code. Please tell me I don't have purge valve issues....

The funny thing is, I haven't put any gas in the car since I got it back from the 'engine dropping out of the car' repair from the dealership. Service techs told me they checked out all the mounts again too, just to be sure.

They gave me that crap of the gas cap issue. CEL came back on and then they wanted to replace the purge valve. Don't go basersk when the CEL comes back on. This is car a is a BAD ASS!!! Im already feeling that your developing a biast tone with this vehicle.

You're telling me you wouldn't be biased if it took three trips to the dealer to fix the P2006 error, and THEN the engine dropped out of your car?

Well no, considering the fact I have had 3 mazda's now and nothing like that has ever happened in either one of them. Like they have mentioned already, no car is perfect.

Scan a copy of your work order/ticket. I would like to see the offical work that was done and thier explanation.

It's probably in my glove compartment - I'll get it....I'll have to wait for my girlfriend to scan it though, as I do not have a scanner.

Yes it varies from state to state but they all one basic rule. The car must be in the shop 3 times for something that the car needs to operate correctly or not at all. Meaning, for instance the fly wheel, if the fly wheel goes bad three times and is replaced and or fixed their after and still goes bad you can declare a lemon. Although if such a thing happens, im sure the dealer will not hesitate to replace the vehicle.

How are you "sure the dealer will replace the vehicle?" The answer is you're not sure. Have you been through the Lemon Law process? I think I know the answer to this question as well. Dealers will fight back as much as you allow them to. Take your states lemon law in writing to the dealership. Study it up front so you are conversational about the specifics. Don't take their BS when they dish it out. Additional theatrics like a picket sign in front of the dealer can also be helpful. Take no BS and know the law.

If you love a car it wont matter how often its at the dealership. My MSP was there the first month or so but since than i have had no problems over the years. My RX-7.... it floods... it runs great... it doesn't start... its flooded... it runs again. . it sits for a few days... its flooded again... it starts eventually... (i need to do the fuel pump fix for this one day) I still love it after 12 years. either way.. my point being. You don't need convincing to love your car. If you do, than you don't love it and just get a different car. Hondas are just as touchy as any other car. My wifes integra is a pain in my arse sometimes... but she loves her car and wouldn't trade it for a diffrent car (i asked many times). Good luck with your decision and the car. I know how frustrating it can be when your car is always letting you down. My experience has led me to believe its the dealer your taking it too. I finally found a mazda dealer with a few competent mechanics that fixed all my issues.
