I officially hate my Mazdaspeed3 :(

It's more that I've had to be at the dealer 5 times in 5 months. True, the first three were dealing with the same issue - the P2006 code. That was rectified with the manifold switch replacement...

But then the ******* engine fell out of the car....that's just....that's not acceptible...but I let them fix it under warranty, Alhambra Mazda's been great to me about it, got me EVERYTHING replaced except the engine....

And now I have to go to the dealer AGAIN. I bought the car because I wanted something reliable to go cross-country with, but this car's been in the shop more than the 1992 Oldsmobile Delta '88 with 155k miles that I replaced with THIS car. It's just unreal.

Every car company has lemons some more than others, perhaps honda less than mazda but either way I don't think your individual case is an everyday thing. Just out of curiousity what are the CEL codes that the MS3 throws? If it makes ya feel any better I have heard of several honda accords, and odysseys with second gear failure in their autos apparently they have pretty weak auto tranny especially from 1st to 2nd. Also RSX has 2nd gear synchro problems in manual. I do agree though that after viewing many threads on this forum, mazda NA has terrible customer service.

Honda transmissions have always had synchro issues. 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd.
I has a 93 SI hatch when I was in my late teens and it definitely went through those same issues.

Don't worry Nondual, everything will work itself out for sure. Mazda cars are very solidly built. Unless you drive like a maniac, after you get everything worked out, it will be like butter.

yeah thedeuchgun is right... I think you are overreacting a bit. If each time you buy a first year production model and get CEL then say "would not buy X brand car again, they are *hit " you'll shortly come to " dam what brand of car i will buy next? a yugo, a lada?"
I know that dropping the engine out of the bay is not something fun to happen but as far as i know there are not that many case of engine dropping. You have a very bad luck but remember... your still on warrenty

As far as the lemon law, you need to have a failure on the same thing 3 time or more under warrenty.

or it will just keep getting stolen

You'd think they realize their cars top the most stolen vehicle lists year after year and fix it so it's not so easy to break into.

Know what the CEL was?

Damned 'loose gascap' code. Please tell me I don't have purge valve issues....

The funny thing is, I haven't put any gas in the car since I got it back from the 'engine dropping out of the car' repair from the dealership. Service techs told me they checked out all the mounts again too, just to be sure.

did they fill it up? sometimes the gascap is screwed in but doesnt seal correctly... Its a stupid code in all honesty, and more of an annoyance than its worth.

yet, all mazdas are the same lol...

Im in Ca, Ill trade you cars. Not one issue with my mz3 in a year. lol this thread is makin me think I shouldnt trade in for the speed3 =\

How many people with problems vs thoughs with none? I just hit 2100 miles and not a thing wrong with my car as of yet. ZERO nada! So dont jump on the "this car is s***" bandwagon. Jump on my "this car is bad ass" bandwagon!

Im sure out of all the hondas out there that there are a few that ae having constant problems just like you, 2nd I dont know what you expected buying a first year car. Its much more likely to have problems, not that yu should have as many oblems as yourhaving but yu should definitely expect more, just look at the first year model 3's. Their reliability wasnt that great but look at them now!

First year or no first year, the engine should not fall out.

My girlfriend is really pushing me to try to get a different car because of that, but now that I know that the latest CEL was just a loose gascap light, I'm more willing to give the car another month or so (at least) before I start calling it an actual lemon.

What I expected was that the car would be more reliable than the 1990 Oldsmobile Delta '88 with 150k miles that the MS3 replaced! I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation.

Get something else. Get a nice subaru. Mazda customer service sucks and they never seem to now much about the cars they sale. I don't understand how you can be mazdaspeed certified and no nothing about them.

I dont think thats the problem. We had a club on the steering wheel and a clutch club. They still stole it, they cut off the clubs. when they recovered the car there was blood every where.

Damn people if you dont like/want a mazda, get off the mazda forum.(dunno)

2900 miles later and the only thing w/ my MS3 is the rear bumper due to some stupid b**** on a cell phone and a shopping cart with windy days at walmart (could seriously wound the wife for that one).

Other than that nothing. has been great to me. I understand your frustration but keep taking it back and getting it fixed. eventually all the bugs will work out or you can do like my buddy did and used the lemon law to get ALL money paid back. Then he bought another car.

I had my GTI in 2k which was a first year for New model and had a few issues but nothing drastic. other people though defineitly had issues.

As for the motor mount well that guy should be fired cause obviously he didn't know what the **** he was doing. OR........ he didn't get laid the night before and had a bad day. can't tell me you never had a bad day affect your work :D lol

If the car is in the shop for more than three times for the same issue and can't be resolved then I would try and get Mazda to buy it back under the Lemon Law. Although this law varies state to state.

Yes it varies from state to state but they all one basic rule. The car must be in the shop 3 times for something that the car needs to operate correctly or not at all. Meaning, for instance the fly wheel, if the fly wheel goes bad three times and is replaced and or fixed their after and still goes bad you can declare a lemon. Although if such a thing happens, im sure the dealer will not hesitate to replace the vehicle.
