^ur funny, love how ur name is brokenmp3 goes right along with that LOL. ;op yeah no hard feelings sniper just making sure u get the point of the site man, and if i have to be an asshole to get u to see it then i guess thats what i gotta do.

Nice job turning it around Sniper. This forum is a great resource for all the mazda enthusiasts out there and I know I have used it as a resource many a times when looking for great ideas to mod up my P5. Special props to ghost. He has the best how-to skills which made it a breeze to do my headlights. BTW, I did mine red to match my red P5 and put blue leds in the high beam housing for the JDM look. I just wish finding a dig cam to post pics would be as easy as doing the lights! Anyway, just wanted to say this forum is great and welcome aboard sniper, though it was a rough start. Your how to will be redemtion enough. Peace.

Ok look, I did this mod for myself, It makes my car different from everyone elses. I can't give anymore info on how to do it (sorry). I dont want to make anyone mad. I just wanted to show you guys what you could do with a little creativity.

I know how you feel! I did the same thing posted a mod to see what people thought of it, and then everyone wanted to do it! I'll now keep the mod to myself, for that reason.

People need to personalize there car with something original. Something diff. we don't want ours cars to all look alike! Thats why we do mods so we don't look like the 40ish old man at the light next to us in his stock P5!

Here is what i've done to my girlfriends car about a year ago! But I bought these lights.

Ok here is how you do it:

To start out first you will need a set of APC Series 7 fogs (these have the Halo lens).
Some type of sealant (silicone, hot glue, etc.)
a grinder
A soldering Iron, to connect wires
and a few other household tools

First you have to crack open the headlight housing. you can get this info from ghostP5. once you have them open you will need to remove the turn signal lens from the reflector. this is held on by two phillips head screws. Next you will need to take the foglight apart. you start by takin out 2 screws, one on each side. next you will need to remove the reflector and bulb, this is held on by 2 screws. then you will be left with the lens housing. now you need to seperate the wiring. you remove any wires that are not going to the halo. ok now you will need to take the grinder( i used a hand held angle grinder) and ground down the housing. there are 2 holes where the screws that held the reflector on and two tabs that held it in place. this is the depth you will grind down to. once you have done the grinding you can test fit the housing to see if it will fit and let the headlight go back together.
if you do it right you will not have to glue this to the reflector. the pressure of the headlight lens and housing being put back together will hold it in place. now you will need to cut the plug off of the halo housing(leave enough wire to be put back together. you will have to use the hole where the small breather hose goes on to feed the wire out of the headlight. this is where you will need to use the sealant . you will have to seal this hole up or moisture will get in. now you put the headlight back together, bake it. then once it has cooled you can put the plug back on the wires comming out of the healight. now you just install the harness for the lights in your car and now you have halos. I will try to get some pics to try make it easier. I dont have pics of when i was doing it. But i'll tey to come upo with some pics. well i hope this can help you do this mod if you want. if you have any questions just let mr know

How about you charge people for making them? I know quite a few of us who'd buy them from you. Make some money, learn who the people on the board are, learn about electronics, etc...

sniperPR5 thats a really nice setup for the lights.. I like the purple on black car.

I thought your mod had something to do with the APC thing, I actually bought that but returned it, was gonna put that on my gf's car.

but anyways thats some smart ideas you have there. and also thanks for sharing it with us. ... I'm sure that some one us with the know how and time would do your mod but most of us (ie me) probably wouldn't but would like to know how it is done. thanks for sharing it with us. hope you come up with more cool things to show us.

the color chnaging is based on the same premise that the multi colored indiglo gauges are. You press a button and it switches the color for you.

These are not hard to make at all. I have a set made for my highs that I cant put in for another week or so and I am making a set of angel eyes for the fogs which I hope to have in by the end of this weekend.

Like has been said the hardest part is taking the headlight housing apart. Alot of people have almost screwed theirs up buy using an oven.

I use an electric heat gun which you can control how quickly it is heating up and you can pry while heating.

Ill get some pictures doen in about 2 weeks when everything is done, I am painting the upper grill bar body colored, the black headlights, angel eyes, some city lights I might install, clear side markers and I might redo the upper grill to remove the M.

should look nice when its all done.
BTW the supplies for the angel eyes:
acrylic rods from home depot(doesnt have to be smooth round, long as you do it right)
LED (2for ea ring) from radioshack
resistor, around 2200ohm is fine, radioshack
a butter knife or even better a dremel
oven or heat gun

thats it basically, there is a how to on this I can go find if others are interested.

I applaud you for reading through the whole thread and noticing that. Some people might read the first page and then reply without reading the rest.

BTW...Kudos to Sniper for seeing the error of his ways. Very Nice mod as well.
