i need help on buying bov

can some1 help me what's the best bov for my cx7? im thinking of getting either bov or intake but im worrying that if i get bov i might have a problem with my ecu... so im asking for your help guys... thanks in advance

Get a bypass valve. The car is designed to work with recirculated air, not BOV's. Bypass valves also have "chshhh" noises if thats what your after. You can still run a BOV if you want but your car might run a little funky. If you get an intake you will be able to hear your stock bpv very clearly.

As for brands . . . you can get BOV's with recirc fittings which lets you run either VTA (vent to atmosphere a.k.a blow off) or recirc (stock).

Just hit up a website like protegegarage.com or str e e t unit.com and look at what they have. Ill give you a list of the ones off the top of my head. I suggest going on youtube to hear what each one sounds like.

Forge bpv
HKS SSQ
greddy type s
turbosmart bov

Really its just a sound preference. Any of them should work fine.

Both are great but forge only has recirc mode. If you have any desire to run VTA you should get a BOV with recirc fitting like the turbosmart.

i just recieved my dual port turbosmart bov, and wow, what a sound....its on the stock air box and still whips really loud....i strongly recoomend it, a bit expensive but worth the $$, + no cel....

I had a Forge did nothing for me, I bought the TurboSmart and it was a lot better for sound...

I liked the Turbo smart but not their price.

I did not need the VTA feature it offered and I like the more stock appearing black forge.

Did you setup the Turbosmart in full recirc? I have a TS set for full recirc in my Speed3 and have had no issues with it what so ever.

I want to get the all black TS BOV so I can swap the silver/blue TS BOV with my wife. It would better match her Electric Blue CX-7 :)

No i have it set to release to air right now. Gives a great sound. Just put boost gauge and im running at 14 - 15 PSI. Not sure what stock is but not going to find out untill I have to take my car in for servicing. For the Full Recirculation it is my understanding it then acts like a BPV. I prefer it to release to atmosphere because its got the good sound and is still performing well. I got the black one off Ebay and boy was it hard to find. Seems like everyone has the blue one.
On your speed three did you every have it release to atmosphere? If so does it perform better on Recirculate?

Never attempted VTA as it's been known to cause issues on the Speed3. I have my TS set for full recirc and it works great, haven't had any issues.

I want the black one so I can install my current one in my wife's CX-7

There are alot of video's on youtube of guys who have it set to VTA on speed 3's thats why I got mine for the cx-7. How does it sounds with recric? How does it perform? I think its time for some experimenting...
I found the black one on Ebay, just be patient and you will find as there are many more blue ones.

Question: can you set the Forge BOV to full recirc?

I know the BPV is designed for that, but I keep getting contradictory information on whether or not you can recirculate the Forge BOV's compressed air back to the intake.

We make an atmospheric valve and a recirc valve but they are entirely separate, they can each only be run as what they are. The recic will throw codes if run as an atmo valve and the atmo lacks provisions for connecting any sort of recorc tube.

I have the Forge bpv on the wife's CX7 and I love driving with it...and she doesn't even know what I did (because you can't really hear it and because when *she* drives it, she barely uses the turbo itself.)
