I am 17. Clean driving record. i got a speeding ticket but i took traffic school so i dont have any points on my license anymore.

and i dont think the rates would be through the roof because im allowed to drive my dads car and he isnt saying stuff to me about his insurance being crazy.

Get the one you would want to keep until it falls apart. You getting a paid for car at your
age is a huge advantage. You need to make sure that whatever you get is easy for you
to drive (comfortable seating position), that is easy to maintain, and as cheap on insurance
as possible......and DON"T trade it off or sell it for a LONG TIME....it will save you countless
dollars in the long run...

This advice comes from lots of experience.

I say that you should go for a 3s, or the MS3.....although the MS6 to me is nearly a
perfect car...but I am 42 and driving a MSP...lol...haha...and I have 4 kids of my own.
I am selling my MSP and looking for a MS3 or MS6 myself

Have fun shopping, but check the insurance rates first...and of course all the turbos
drink premium gas only...so it will cost a little more to drive. All of them are very good
cars and hold their value well. Yes...MS3's are not a lot more to purchase than a 3s..so
take that into consideration.

yes i know all about the premium gas, but to me its worth it in the long run. my dads insurance is only like 20 more dollars every 6 months than my moms is. what im most worried about is the parts (which should be my last concern)

Ive been driving a stock (except the BBS wheels) for about 2.5 years now and ive been hanging out with some local mazda people and ive had the mod bug for a reallly long time but im trying to hold out till i get my car.

But yea im going to def talk to my dad and see what he thinks about selling his car and getting me a CWP ms3. (sexiest color ever on a ms3.)

You should keep in mind that this is most likely the last car that your parents will foot the bill for, and you will be the one paying the bills on it sooner than you think(limb). ^^^^i definitely agree. also keep in mind, when the car is on YOUR insurance, and you are by yourself on your own policy, what that insurance cost is goin to be like, and you are definitely gonna want full coverage insurance on either car you get, so that is even more. and 18grand is hard to come by.... dont take it so lightly lol, thats gonna be a nice size car payment for quite a long time!

So after thinking about it im pretty set on a reg 3. All the things above are true (cheaper gas, insurance, maintenance, etc.) but i think i could have a little more "fun" with it. Yes more fun in a car with 100 or so less horsepower haha.

so i gotta get a job really soon so i can afford the parts that i want. ive got a whole list typed up with stuff that i want. and its looking to be a weee bit more than i thought so looks like a need to get of my ass and get a job.

i may post it in here later i gotta check it real quick. my goal for this car would be around 200hp at the crank i have a friend that got 196 so it should be to hard.

miatas are nice but im 17 (soon to be 18) year old kid. dont really want a miata right now especially as a DD.

how old are you, depending on age/driving record a speed 6 or 3 insurance rates could be through the roof! and you said a speed only cost 500-700 more? im not sure where you live but in ohio, speeds are next to impossible to find and when you do find one its at LEAST 2-3grand more than a mz3! and yeah keep in mind premium gas and all that stuff is alot more costly/impractical

hard to find? I was at the Mazda Dealership in Kings Auto-mall (Cincinnati) last week & test drove a 2004 MS Miata, 2006 MS6 and looked at numerous MS3's...

All that is probably going to cost around 3600? somewhere around there. the only things on there that are really expensive is the Mazda lip,Vibrant catback, and a the header.

THESE ARE MY CHOICES MY PARENTS WOULD PROBABLY SAY NO TO A MS3 SINCE IT HAS THE SAME MOTOR AND DRIVES BASICALLY THE SAME AS THE MS6

1st choice: 2009 MS3 in any color i like them all except red
2nd Choice: a 2008.5 or 2009 (i dont like the 07-08 rear bumper it looks unfinished.)reg 3 hatchback with a sunroof. 5 speed.
Last choice: The MS6 thats in the garage now. its nice but its so grown man like and i dont know if i am ready for that.
