I need games. 360/wii/ps3

So, my health hasn't been the greatest as of late. So I've been home a lot. All of xmas, new years, my birthday, even the womans b day. I got better for a few weeks, now back home again.

Anyways, there are sicker people in the world then me, but the bottom line is, that I've been home... A LOT.

Then, the one thing that kept me sane, also got sick. My 360 died Feb 2nd. No warranty, no luck.

So now I'm gameless. The more time I'm off, the less better I am financially of course but I don't care anymore. i need something to do. Since my 360 died, I'm not sure if I want to put any more money into it, although I friggin loved it. I love PC gaming, but the couch is where my ass is lately.

So, my questions. Anyone own all 3 consoles? I see the Wii as cute, something as a gimmick and only good for parties. The PS3 as something with no games...yet, and the 360 as the best overall system with some major hardware faults that ruin it.

If i were to buy another, assuming I can ( thank god for credit cards) which one?

Are you sure you can't get your 360 fixed? Microsoft extended their warranties for the earlier built ones from like 90 days to over a year...

Call Microsoft, it might be worth the free call...

What hardware faults do the 360 have? I love mine, but I made sure to buy one with the newest build date I could find...

Wow, sorry you're not doing very well. If you need a cheap gaming system w/ 1000s of games then why not spring for a PS2? I still love mine. And for a brand new one for $130, you cant beat it.

I'd have to say the Wii is great beyond the whole multiplayer thing. I'm playing Zelda on it right now (single-player) and it's a blast. Very addictive... Which is kinda bad because I should be studying for my midterms.

Based on what I hear from Wii owners, they claim that at first it's awesome because of it's new technology. Then it gets old a bit, but when you play with other people it's fun. I'm an Xbox360 owner myself.

Ps2 isn't for me. Didn't like it when it was new, certainly not now. Which makes me question getting the ps3 as well, but I must admit, I'm interested in the ps3 still. Especially the linux capabilites. I am more of a PC and Xbox man.

i have all three systems (call me self-spoiled). i enjoy each one on thier own merits honestly (call it a cop-out).

my ps3 is big black heat sink right now. the games for it are very underwhelming, at best. between the two, 360 really is the superior machine. the controller is better, the interface is better, multiplayer is better and i really think the games look better - right now - on 360. i have a 52 inch Samsung DLP with 1080P so its not like i am not getting the most out of either system. the best game on PS3 is Resistance Fall of Man and yeah, its good, but i think its pretty overrated by the media who so desperately want a killer app for thier $600 multimedia appliance.

i play the Wii more than any other system. i am a nintendo fanboy, but running up to the launch i thought the system was going to be a huge flop. i couldn't fathom how a lower tech system with a gimmick controller was going sell period. the trick is, the gimmick really works and works well. i do find myself longing for motion control especially in menus when i go back to 360 or ps3. its like when Apple first made the mouse popular in the 80s and IBM style PCs were chugging along with only a keyboard. ok, maybe its not that pronounced for most people.

there are some really damn good games for wii and the price is right. its not a graphical powerhouse, in fact i'd say some games look worse with HD cables. even single player though, there are some really fun games that make the system worth the purchase, and the downloads thus far have been really good, with a few duds here and there.

The xbox is the best out there right now. sony is rediculosly over priced and nintendo is just cute. The Wii is also the best selling system right now so good luck finding one.

The only one of the 3 I have currently is the PS3 although I'll likely finally get an XBox once Forza 2 comes out though. For you Newf, since you need something that's good right NOW, your only option really is another 360 IMO...and maybe get an extended warranty from Best Buy or something this time "just in case". The Wii is only good for multiplayer IMO, or if you like the old games, which I suspect you're not that into anyway. The PS3, while very cool and has a ton of potential, just flat out doesn't have the games right NOW that you currently need. Unless you'd also be interested in high def movies....then possibly the PS3 would work for you right now.

definitely get the extended warranty coz if it goes bad, b.b. or c.c. will give you a brand new one of the current version.

I have 4 gaming PC's and a couple of game worthy laptops as well as having bought a PS3 (I sold it) a Wii and I have played many hours on the XB0X360. I like them all but the Wii has been a blast. Rayman, COD3, WarioWare, Wii Sports Boxing, and a few others were all cheap and non-gamers really enjoy playing.
It really pulls the other 80% of the non-gaming world in and that is where Nintendo has won big. It is really hard to find one though as well as the controllers both nunchuck and wiimote
I do think the 360 is far better executed than the PS3, the Wii is less powerfull but great, and the 360 has the added bonus of acting as a media extender and you download HD movies right to it.
So for cheap druken party fun get the Wii (or wife/kids/grandma fun), for serious multiplayer, HD movie downloads, web/tech nerd fun buy another 360, and for GIGANTIC, MONOLITHIC, I paid 600$ for this? fun get the PS3.

Hopefully they fix it. I mean, it's a next gen system with a lot of life ahead of it, would be good to not have to abandon it.
