new agencies like TSA and GSA are hiring alot

Man I am glad I am not alone. Been out since Dec. Really sucks when you have a house and car and other things that you have worked hard for and now are in threat of losing. I am down to just trying to find any job but still not having much luck. Starting to get a complex. But once I get some job I think I am going to go back to school.

yeah

I was looking thru USAJOBS and most of them want clearance. I am qualified for at least the GS9 positions based on the requirements they want within the IT field...although I have never worked for the governement, contract or otherwise, and don't have active clearance. THing that sucks is the KSA's..they will definitely make or break you.

I am glad that I am not the only one in the same boat either. I am still on the payroll till the end of the week then severance and the vacation time are paid out. thanks for the advise on TSA and GSA...I am gonna check that out now. Good luck everyone.

AUTOX MSP look thru the washington post..lots of HD positions, assuming that you are in the IT field...also check AOL's website. THey are hiring like mad, I have 6 resumes at that place alone :)

you can also try some trades... you can make some decent money and get paid while you learn. i install fire protection sprinklers , (pipe fitter) this is my 3rd year , last year i made just over 52k. i do have to wake up early as hell and climb ladders swinging big wrenches all day , but its an honest living
