I might lose my license...

(pow) so i need to stop complaining about wearing one contact in my left eye so i can read withput glasses!! the best to both of you!!

HELL YEAH BITCHES!!!! I'm back on the road free and clear with no restrictions! My doc signed the form, I'm currently seeing 20/40 which is good enough. At least at this point, my doc also said I'll probably have to go through the same thing every year but that's fine with me. I guess this was just a good wake up call to get my ass in gear and actually do something to help prevent my eyes from getting any worse. Thanks for the encouragement everyone.

Eye sight is one of the most important senses ,as you are now aware
When I was 7 ,I was hit with a mudball in my left eye causing me to lose the sight in that eye , I can tell that being blind is no fun , I was that way for 18 weeks . You do learn to adapt ,to this day I can still sense things in total darkness .
I do drive, when I first got my license ,the tester could believe that I was blind in one eye ,until I did the letter test with my left , By the way the vision in my left eye is 20/1080 which is the worst the machine will measure
Any way please take care of your eyes ,they are a gift that cannot be replaced .

Congrats on getting your license back.

I recall reading a journal article quite a while back that discussed macular degeneration and possible treatments. They're experimenting with retinal nanochip implants which are light wave receptors. They in turn will transmit electrical impulses (based upon the on/off binary system) down the optic nerve like properly functioning retinal cells. The vision of patients in the later stages of MD (near blindness) was improved drastically-- to the point where they could actually read text on a page. Who knows, maybe less invasive treatments already exist. Keep your head up!

gotta love technology! the treatments are expanding by leaps and bounds and hopefully they'll come out with a fix/ cure to MD.
