I know nothing about boosts/turbos

its probably the suspension squeaking. it does that, usually not a bad thing but if you're concerned the dealer should be able to fix that up. when you have a race-tuned suspension, s*** gets tight and sometimes needs lube or whatever. im just used to it now... usually only does it when it's cold.

yeah mine is really bad when its cold,i wouldnt worry to much about it and if it really bothers you you can always get the clunk fix

Thats what I suspected, it also makes a strange noise when I shift, but it shifts smoothly, any idea what that is? Its like a BRRGGG noise, it usually happens when i'm coming out of first.

I have the same problem. Not sure what it is. Its been doing it since last June. Nothing has broken yet.........

I have 62.000 miles on it. But I am going to replace the clutch, get a welded lsd and replace the timing belt next month. Just afraid the lsd is going to go at anytime.

Sound clip or video would be tough. Mine sounds more like a clicking noise. Only get it when I let the clutch out in first, feels like its coming from the trans but not sure if its the clutch or the lsd.

I really don't...if you read my intro thread you'd know my circumstances. But lets just leave it at this car was given to me.

it has these gages(the two on the left):

Can someone explain what these measure/their importance ect ect. Pretend like your explaining it to a seven year old, because thats probably my knowledge level when it comes to this

Thanks!

I was in the same situation you are in ( lack of knowledge about my car) this helped me alot to learn about turbos:

the turkey is compressor surge, this is caused by the bad bypass valve that mazda put on our cars. to make a long explanation short, it has been there all along but the stock air box and pipes were plastic so they muffled it. When the aluminum pipes of the air intake were installed to replace the stock air box and pipes it allowed you to hear the noise. This noise is created from the bpv recirculating air and that air hitting the turbo fan in the wrong direction. The easy fix for this is to run a dual system by adding in a blow off valve while keeping the bypass valve. If your intercooler pipes are plastic this will not work but to get hardpipes can be expensive. the compromise is to buy a hardpipe for the section you need, SLS performance makes one that works from the stock side mount intercooler( www.horsepowerfreaks.com ), all other hard pipes are designed for use with a front mount intercooler. check out this thread to see how to do the actual installation of the bov for the dual set up:

I will be doing this as well, i added an intake yesterday and found my turkey, I will probably replace the stock bypass valve with the forge bypass valve: http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pri...ow_Off_Valves/part/MazdaSpeed_OEM_Replacement
I will then add the Forge Blowoff valve:

the blowoff valve will be installed on the harpipe kit I mentioned above:

Thanks, if I don't do this any time soon will I have a problem?

from what I have been told, it all depends on how you drive. If you drive like mario andrettie, yeah your gonna have a problem. I am not doing this asap, i dont have the funds or the time right now, since it came stock with these problems and mazda doesnt make cars that die right away i would say you got some time, that is the impression i am under and that i am following.
