Aricjm15 said:so you must not have seen the GIANT PLUME OF STEAM that usualy comes when you pop a radiator hose? even if you were going fast it would have looked like your car was blowing assloads of smoke from the tail pipe. Also there is also the strong smell of coolant that would have been pouring into the car. This can all be summed up as a very stupid mistake.
SenorCorwin said:thing about mam is the turn around time... he has to wait on other vendors. Theres no telling how long hed wait. Buying a new motor for 2500 is a little dumb on your part. Look around and get a rental for the time being. Dont rush yourself it something.

It doesn't take a mechanic to replace a motor. The new motor will go in the exact same as the old. Hell, the second motor I've replaced was a swap in a civic. Just use a digital camera to know where everything went and label stuff. I think a P5 motor could be replaced and be done with under $800 including fluids....Hughes412 said:Assuming hes a mechanic with time to waist, well we all know what ASSuming get you.
Your also assuming that these engines dont need rebuilt. How long did they sit, were they stored properly (it doesn't look like it)?
Not all people are willing to put there faith in a used engine. To be people that buy a used engine and do not rebuild it befor they install it are asking for trouble.
