I own the kdc-x879...I would not buy it again or any other kenwood. Each one that I have had has had its problems over time from all buttons losing function to the motorized faceplate malfunction. The mask technology was a great concept but the moving parts everytime it's turned on wears on it. With this edition, the faceplate after a month did and does not fold up correctly now. I actually have to push it to make close it completely. I'm going with pioneer probably as my next reciever. Just my 2 cents...

yeah, I bought a kenwood some time ago, and I hated it and it stopped working so I returned it for a Sony and it sounds pretty good. so if you want good clarity, I recomend Pioneer or Alpine. other than that, I would buy a nice head unit and a set of components or speakers.

Kenwood isn't crap. Get the KDC-X889. It does it all, with a knob, and no MASK!! Perfect unit.

the quality of kenwood has gone downhill...good luck with this unit. At least they got rid of the mask on this one...that may help...

I sold and bought...I'm not a fan anymore though....if you like it, you like it...I wouldn't buy one again, but there was a time I would buy one in a heartbeat. For what it's worth though, I like the one I sold you much more than the one I have now...

I have HD TV'S and cameras at work so I'm kinda spoiled when it comes to seeing quality Images.
We shoot a lot of our projects in HD and it's, funny we shot some stuff for PBS last month in HD.
The problem is Comcast and other aren't transmitting TURE 1920x1080 HD yet. so this image is great but not it's full potential.

If you could see what is really being laid down on tape you'd be floored!
