Update:
I did peel the dealer crap off the car including the dumb front license plate thing and the back license frame thing. Those pics are from the dealers website.
I paid 13300. The bank said the loan value was 13200, but it was such a clean car that I felt 13300 was fair. I talked them down from almost 14000 to 13300 before going to look at the car. I did not know it had the 6 cd changer with 7 speaker stereo or power sunroof when I was negotiating. They failed to list it on the website. I just figured with 8800 miles there could not possibly be anything wrong with it. Even if there was something, its under warranty until Dec of 2007.
I'm not sure who the previous owner was, but I'm guessing they had multiple cars (and a dog cause there is some hair in the back of the car). They bought it at the same dealer I bought it from but traded it in at a saturn dealership owned by the same people, so they moved it to the mazda dealer for sale.
Its replacing my 1988 pontiac 6000! This is the first time I got the car I really wanted instead of just getting something cheap and reliable.
My first car was a 68 bug with holes in the floor, then I got a dodge neon and sold it to my brother cause payments sucked and I wanted to go to college. Next I got a 1967 pontiac bonneville and drove it untill I got the 88. I recked the front of it about 4 years ago, but kept driving it anyway. It needs a new muffler and has one headlight. Its a piece but it has never left me stranded or had any problems ever...but I cant say I'm sad to see it go!
I'll post a pic later. I'm getting ready to list ole brownie on ebay for 100 dollars. I'm just hoping bidding gets high enough to cover my taxes
I was looking at protege's for about a month and either the dealers would not make a fair deal on them or they would sell before I could get a deal going. I feel very lucky that everything worked out on this one and am already enjoying the hell out of the car. It makes going to the store fun and you really cant ask more than that. I keep trying to think of errands to run so I can drive some more!
Oh and the guy who wanted to call bulls***, I know your joking, but I have the carfax report and it is clean clean clean. I can post a pic of the dash if you want proof. Just have a recall to get taken car of, something with the intake flap or something.
