I see 200 miles around 5/8ths & that is aggro driving habits with auto & AC & power steering. All of the "discussion" aside, here are a few bits of factual reality that have nothing to do with having acetone in your tank. 1) the gas makers do not want you to get more mpg-they sell less gas, they make less profit. 2) the government is showing concern for appearance sake only about you getting more mpg, they get less money from gas taxes, they get less money from oil industry lobbyists 3) car makers have no interest in you getting more mpg, they only care about you driving the s*** out of your car so they can sell you another one, they aren't going to do anything to make your car last longer-they make less money.
