JUST KIDDING (uve HELPED tons)
All our snow is gone and i can bring the speed out again!!!!
so today i went for a drive and took the standback out and ran it stock, i am hitting 15psi and NO FUEL CUT or BOOST CUT pulls hard through every gear temp is approx 5 degrees celcuis

So what im gonna try and use my expensive boost controller tonite and post some details, cuz i kno on the standback i can adjust my boost clip and boost
Correct me if im wrong, but doesnt the boost clip do the same thing as a map clamp???
i will have a bunch of videos up tontie of my car stock, 15psi w/ standback (and fuel cut), 18psi (with fuel cut) and then 1 more run at 18psi with 2% fuel added from 3000rpm and up, i should have no fuel cut here but stuttering
IM GETTIN SO ANNOYED WITH THIS CAR

so all along i shoulda gotten a fuel pump not the standback :(
anyone wanna buy a cp-e ems for CHEAP????
 
I actually do hate Laloosh. I'm trying to save money, and every time I read one of his posts, I'm like...dammit, now I gotta go buy stuff.
 
after i had a tune.....no more fuel cut....just ran my first autox of the season...car run great....now i need to adjust to my new found whp.....
 
udontknowjack - So you have BOV, FMIC, Inlet, Intake, TBE, standback @ 18.8psi.
You have had a dyno tune done and you no longer experience any fuel cut.

For Loosh/Driver, without starting another thread war, can you please shed some light on why our good mate here has fixed his cut without a fuel pump which you have advised is absolutely necessary?

From what i can see, the difference between him and you guys looks to be the type of intake and (correct me if i'm wrong UDKJ) a professional dyno tune. FYI i have Xede, TBE, SRI with hours spent being dyno tuned and i have never hit fuel cut. There is another guy with the same mods as me but he runs 20psi that has never hit fuel cut. There are MS3's in Oz running over 330hp atw still on the stock pump without hitting fuel cut. All these cars have been dyno tuned with the Xede unit. All these cars run fine with the lowest air temp being around 50-60 degree's give or take. There was recently a case of someone hitting fuel cut but all they had was an Apexi CAI. The car got the cut constantly, even in our hot Summer weather. There's no way he was running out of fuel, we are leaning towards it being a MAF issue with the CAI's that caused his problem.

As much as you seem to dislike him, what Dadas says does make sense. If it was a fueling problem, that would mean the stock Mazda pumps have a Massive variance in output. Eg Some of you add a CAI and get a cut meanwhile others have CAI, TBE, FMIC, CPE @ 18psi etc and have no cut. Another example was a post where someone had a CAI and got the fuel cut. They turned boost down to less than stock and still got the fuel cut. Surely turning down boost lessens the requirement on fuel? Or does running 10-13psi with a CAI (which is supposed to lean the car out anyway correct?) create a larger demand for fuel than a stock car running 15.6psi? Those in warmer climates tend to never experience the fuel cut. Those in freezing climates continually complain about fuel cut. Sounds like a temperature related issue to me.

Perhaps i'm barking up the wrong tree. I'm not mechanically minded, you guys are way ahead of what i understand. The fuel pump results sound awesome, obviously it did wonders for Loosh's car, i just don't think it's the problem here.

Once again i don't want to start an argument, but as someone who is outside the circle and has been following this issue, i think many of you are not looking at things rationally anymore. It's at the point where you all argue even if you are wrong because you hate the 'other side' so much.
 
stutter and running out of fuel only happened in the cold temps. My fuel pressure dropped, and yes i was using a quality intake (cpe). My stuttering started to happen at 15psi with i/tbe whenever it droped under 40 degrees

The cold weather makes more power, we all agree on that one as i love driving in the cool air to :)
Because of that the car would need more fuel to make more power yeah? Correct me if i'm wrong, this is the argument for the car running out of fuel correct?

So what happens to the guy in Florida who has i/TBE/TMIC @ 17psi and never hits a fuel cut? Does this mean he is making less power than your car (i/tbe @ 15psi) because you are getting the fuel cut and he isn't? Or does it mean his stock pump is better than your stock pump? Everyone is convinced it's lack of fuel so therefore you guys would agree that if you have only a CAI installed and 15psi in cold weather, your fuel requirement is greater than someone in 70-80 degree weather with i/tbe/fmic/dyno tune Xede @ 20psi? Correct?

You guys are light years ahead of me in understanding cars, i'm just trying to put this in logical layman's terms so morons like myself can understand exactly what point on the fuel cut you are trying to make.

From all of my datalogs of fuel cut in cold weather, it is not fuel pressure (or lack thereof) related. I've looked at injector pulse width and fuel pressure and both are normal. I believe the cold weather + breathing mods puts the ecu in a parameter space that was not well defined. I believe Mazda made a software error in programming the ecu. Cp-e and I developed the winter fuel cut fix, aka IAT clamp and with this you can actually dial the rpm that you want to get fuel cut. For my situation, 82 deg at the MAF IAT eliminates fuel cut. The fact that you can dial the fuel cut electronically tells me its a software glitch. I posted about this in this subforum here: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123693780. I'll say it again for all those that will bring this up, the MAF IAT does NOT affect AFR. I have a dashhawk and monitor my afr continuously. I've also datalogged WOT runs with different IAT settings and there is no difference in the AFR of my tune with different MAF IAT settings. THe car has an IAT in the MAP sensor and this is likely the one it uses for air density calcs as it would have the most fluctuation as it is post turbo and intercooler.
 
or u can look at my charts and watch the fuel pressure drop. Ive sent you the only ones i have left and even you said u have never seen fuel pressure that low. I believe that was in the 12000, try cutting that in half and thats what my car went through. The iat mod works, but my cold cut went away with the spring mod

BUT NO FUEL CUT............Where the heck did it go
i've got cp-e intake, cp-e catless downpipe, cp-e ems.
A month or so ago SAME temps roughly -2degrees celcius i was fuel cutting like a mad man
The car was recently in the dealership and all they did was an oil change so i bypassed the ems with the bypass u get. And now i re-hooked it up at 18psi and NO FUEL CUT
i did WOT runs in 3rd 4th 5th and nuthin, no stutter nuthin ?????????????

SO WHATS GOIN ON HERE?

Strange cars hey.

So Loosh, just to confirm are you saying Finkle ran out of fuel capacity before, got his car serviced and has now gained fuel capacity for reasons unknown and you think he will run out of fuel again capacity again in the future? I realise you are not sure on the reasons why, but this is what you are saying correct?

Can anyone please touch on my other part so i understand this more?
 
i am saying he needs to first confirm he is running otu of fuel before he speculates its the fuel pump. Datalog fuel pressure
 
alrite, well tonite im gonna try and do all my logging
and lets see whats going on with my car.
and i was actually ADDING fuel from 1.9-5.0 tps(v) 2655-3621(rpms)
and then i was PULLING fuel from 1.9-5.0 tps(v) 3862-7000(rpms)
the timing is untouched

Now that i look more carefully the standback keeps dropping my boost by .1 everytime i plug it in????????? it says 16.8psi

my boost clip is set to 10.0 psi....standback stock is 13.0psi
jordan at cp-e told me to do this when i first started having my issues and it kinda helped but not much

so ill zero out all my fuel tables later and set boost for 15 and 17 and see what happens
ill try and get afr logged as well

what should i log off the cp-e???

Fuel pres out V
i can only do 4, what ya think (there are a few other that i dont think matter)

when you pull fuel u need less fuel. Try adding fuel just go +5 everywhere, datalog your fuel pressure, it should drop like a rock. what a/f did u tune for
