i'm fully aware that PS3 is practically a supercomputer in a sleek black shell. technology in the gaming industry traditionally means very little though. psp is a far superior handheld to the DS and yet the DS outsells is 3 to 1 globally. neo geo, 3DO, jaguar, n64 were all examples of technologically superior hardware that either failed outright or didn't gain the following in order to succeed. its all about the games and how fun they are. i think microsoft has the upper hand, and in a way nintendo does too, simply because they command the numbers (12million and 13million to sony's 5million) that sell the software. sony no longer has that advantage, and thats really what developers are going to look at. thats why companies still develop game boy games 20 years after the thing was released.
there will be amazing ps3 games i am sure, which is part of the reason i don't ebay the sucker. i just see 360 and wii having more games and more of the games i want to play. that doesn't even talk about the online content. xbox live friggin rules compared to playstation network.
specs don't define a system, content does. otherwise nintendo wouldn't be able to sell 13 million of what is arguably nothing more than an upgraded gamecube with motion controllers
