Orange MSP, she's SPICY!
So i havent been frequenting the boards as much as i used to, and Im trying to catch up... I just read in a section that if i got my MSP ECU flashed at MAzda, that now im ****** for turning up the boost? PLEASE tell me there is a way to fix this lol, or else im selling my car.

well unless you are planning on building the motor, 10 psi is what most would say to run anyways, so you may make more power with 9psi and more timing. Fuel control should be number 1 with a flashed ECU.

All it did was advance the timing. Don't boost over 10psi and you should be ok with supporting mods. If you want to boost more than that you will need some sort of EMS that allows you to adjust the timing so you can retard it to a safer level.

ok, so what boost am i running now? (its stock) i'll assume 4-5psi which is what I have heard. I was not planning on running any more than 9-10 psi, however I know that i shouldnt do this without supporting mods, however what these supporting mods are i dont know them all. I was thinking (in the near future, before i turn up the boost) of getting a FMIC, a guy i knowis going to fab one for me $400cdn :D hardpipes and a CAI... can anyone tell me what else im gonna need? I wanna give some LOVE TO MY SPEED!

Stock is supposed to be 6.9psi, but in reality it is anywhere from 5-7.
I'd say downpipe first, then I'd say upgraded IC, colder plugs, fuel control(and possibly timing if you want), then mess with the boost. You can get a CAI too, but I don't think it's really necessary.

Yes, you'll definetly need some exhaust work before turning up the boost. At least a larger downpipe and midpipe with no or 1 hi-flow cat.

An upgraded Intercooler (either Front or side mount) will help as will a CAI. There's a 20 degree temp difference between the stock box and the Injen CAI when cruising at 75mph.

At 9-10 psi with all the supporting mods Fuel Control may not be absolutely necessary. However, you will yield much better results with it.

Oh yeah, get a boost gauge too, or an Electronic Boost Controler that acts as a guage too. Very unsafe to raise the boost level with a gauge to know where you are at.
