I got arrested AGAIN!

Any fines from your arrest, car tow, and time in jail should be covered by your lawyer. The only thing you should have to pay from this incident is the front plate fine.

I didnt even get a written warning or a fine for the front plate. The cop felt bad for me. The cop was actually pretty cool. He made the tow truck company come back with a flat bed instead of the first truck they brought so they wouldnt **** my car all up.

if your attorney starts dicking around with you anymore and he sticks with the 'its the prosecutors fault' then say that you would like to look into suing the city for false arrest. if he really is a good buddy of the prosecutor he won't wanna get him in trouble (so it'll be something like "oh well I can look into that but I don't think that its necessary") or if its your attorney's fault then he'll weasel out of it (like "I don't think we should go to that level, I don't think we have much of a case"). technically it should be covered under false arrest but either way your attorney should pay for everything (he can get the $ from the city if its thier fault) and you might consider talking to him about comp-ing you for your time (ask him what he bills his time at for clients (glare) ). anyways, sux for you but hopefully this will all get worked out quickly.

Report him to the bar association. Once he gets a sniff of that, he sure as hell will straighten up. Also, show him this thread. That would be the ultimate

screwing with the bar association can only hurt you (maybe hurt him too but mostly you) because attorneys, while they don't always like each other, they protect their own. he might be disbarred but I doubt you'll find decent legal representation in your area for quite some time after. even suing the city isn't a great idea (cops on your ass 24/7) but if you talk about and retract the idea after you find out his reaction, it might be an interesting tool.

Definitely. If I was a cop, and checked your record, and saw that you assaulted a cop, I'd take every precaution I could for my own safety.

hold on, you guys fail to go to court for something that you are responsible for but yet blame someone else for you getting arrested. You know this doesn't sound right.
I will be honest with ya. I can't afford to give a lawyer 2g's to pay or handle my tickets. But even if I could I would still make it my business to haul my ass into court and make sure I either got the date pushed back or settled the case. As you saw in the end result you are the one that is responsible for your actions. I wouldn't blame the lawyer ..

Good luck at any rate.

Agreed that it is mine to deal with but it is an arraignment. All I would do is show up, plead not guilty and then be assigned a trial date. The attourney was supposed to take care of that for me.
I cannot really afford the 2gs on the lawyer either but I came up with it. But if it is 2gs and keeping my license so I can get to work and drive my car its one thing. My other option is to take the beating in court and go to jail for at least a couple weeks and walk to my new job at the convenience store. I bet in the long run spending the money up front would be worth my while.

Yeah true, but in the future make sure you are there at the court before he is. I learned the hard way never to trust anyone else with my personal business.

Good luck with it. I hope you can keep your license back so you can come to kent. I will make a burger just for you bro.. honey bbq style.

He he. Yeah doggg!!! Yeah I just shouldve called the court at least the next day to make sure that everything was taken care of. I tell you what, from now on I am going to check and double check and stay on top of it to avoid another situation.

(uhm) you need to hire another lawyer and sue your first lawyer... sounds like he won't put up much of a defense

wouldn't that take more money. Lawyers don't work for free.
As long as he gets the tickets dismissed and the lawyer reimbursing him or at least offers, for the time he had to spend in jail for improper business tactics.
