Yes. It's a race between what ever shows up first... Either I'll be going the VW route or the Mazda Route. I haven't found a Golf 1.8t with a 5 speed yet. I hope those people who wanted the mazda decide to turn it down. I'll be all over it.

Do dealers like about cars bieng sold, in hopes that you'll pay more to try and get it??? Because, I just can't believe it was sold yesterday... But maybe it's just me...

Sucks to hear man. Maybe you can go to a dealer and tell them what you're looking for so they can find it at an auto auction? I know there's a big place in Syracuse that does daily auctions, perhaps there is one out your way.

Well, there is auction direct USA out here. I'm just going to keep saving until something comes up again, and this time I'll react faster. It was partly my fault, because I waited so long.

Well that red P5 I told about earlier. The 5 speed with 77,000 miles. I'm going to check that out and call the guy today. He wants 8300 for it, but I may be able to get him down to 8000 if the car is like I think it is...

But then I also found a Black Golf near where my mom works. I think I want the golf a bit more... But I'm going to try and contact the owner of the P5 today, as well as the dealership with the Golf.

I would go on Kelley blue book, and type in the year and mileage and then see what the bluebook is for that car. If its less you might be able to talk them down. When i bought mine brand-new in 01 the guy tried to sell it to me for like $18,000? I told him i knew what the MSRP was for that car and i wasn't paying a penny more than that. So after a week of negotiations he went for the MSRP price. Those guys just try and make some extra doe on the deal, but if they want the sale believe me they will sell it at the price that is close to what your looking for.
