I finally have something to save for...

I guess it is time to start saving my pennies, because we finally have a coil-over kit for the CX-7! Autoexe no less!

Guaranteed that it will take me forever to save up, but now I have a goal. Thank you Corksort!(nana)

I dont know crap about this stuff but how can we benefit from putting this on?

So you can take corners fast and hit bumps in the road that will paralyze your children in the back seat. Not to mention the increased likely hood of rolling a vehicle this big trying to auto-x. subscribes for pics

LOL, No way I'll be running auto cross in a cx-7; there just aren't a ton of options for lowering/tuning the suspension. The autoexe springs only bring you down about 1.5". I'm sure that you can set these to give you a much more significant drop. BTW, the whole point of coil-overs is control (i.e. adjusting height, damping force, etc.). If the ride is too rough, you can change the settings to soften it up a bit...

Thanks for the explanation. I'm pretty clueless about such things and their purpose. Good luck filling your piggy bank.

I did some light autocrossing in the CX at the Corksport BBQ last year. Didn't take the course too quick but didn't feel like she was in any danger of rolling, even if I upped the speed a bit.

I saw that last year. Plenty of squat and dive if I recall. Wasn't there a Speed6 also performing similarly?

Moderate to low dampening selection on the coil overs should yield a reasonable cruising/daily driving ride with the benefit of more controlled weight transfer. Vibration will be more pronounced though with the stiffer springs.

Yeah, compared to my Escort it had a fair amount of squat and dive. Nothing a few suspension upgrades can't solve. :D

Are you gonna solve it this summer? (drive)

Probably not this summer. The wife really doesn't want me to mess with it yet and that's understandable.
