I brok-ed my car

i meant time wise, 1/4 mile; 0-60...i know the hp rating but that tells me nothing

Mazda3 0-60 around 7.6 seconds

MSP around 6.9 seconds

never said the 3 was faster, I said it could hang, but aren't we are going off topic. ^_^

If you get the two on a road course though, there's no such hanging to be had... the MSP would walk away from the 3...

(lurk)

For having a turbo charged engine the msp is not all that great. Same goes for the mazda 6 which imo is a weak v6. The mazda 3 is an unturbo'd car that CAN hang with the msp. (Stock of course) Mazda 3 = 160 hp MSP = 170hp Imagine if the 3 came with a turbo. If the msp is the mazdaspeed of the pro then the mazdaspeed 3 is going to kick some serious ass and leave the msp eating dust. But in the end I am a mazda guy and I love them all. Beats the hell out of my 97' pro.

Yes, but you forget about comparing price...

I bought my MSP brand new for $17,500. My friend just bought his 3 for 20,500... I saved 3 grand on a car that is quicker off of the line and better in the corners. Sure, he's got options on the car, but in all honesty, they are options that I can live without. You're right about the MS3 kicking some major ass, but it's also going to cost an arm and a leg to do so... I'd say that an MS3 would cost about 10 grand more (27,500) brand new than what my car did. You give me 10 grand to upgrade my car, and I'll give you a car that would put a MS3 to shame.

That's because of the changing economy.....and the 3 is rated the best in it's class, ofcourse the 3 would be more expensive, it's a newer car

If the MSP was made for 2005 or 2006 it would carry a hefty price tag as well....The point is, in this argument the price means nothing, A stock 3 is close to a MSP, add a turbo to a 3 and you have an untapped monster, and you know it...It's okay to be afriad ^_^..

I am not talking about price Skeff I am talking about raw horsepower in their respective engines. And I do not know of anyone who paid less than $22,000 for a new msp. You got an awesome deal because in 1997 my Mazda protege (1.5L 92 HP) cost $17,000. Anyways I don't think the MS3 is going to cost more than $25,000 but I could be wrong and have been wrong. Overall In terms of STOCK power the 3 is better than that of the msp. (just look at all the other 4 cylinder turbo charged vehicles out right now) Most surpass 200HP stock. Just my opinion and you now what they say about opinions. Peace, Santos

Sha, not meh

Alright, fine, whatever. You're just talking about HP and 1/4 mile numbers. And IF it had a turbo, it would beat the MSP. Wow, so would ever other car out there. Maybe the 3 can pull a close 0-60 with the MSP, but thats not important, the MSP is not a fast car guys. 3s 1/4 mile is like 16 seconds. WOWOWOW. MSP is like 15 seconds. WOWOWOW ALSO. Its like comparing two turtles, WHICH ONE IS GONNA BE THE WINNER. who ******* cares. The MSP will outhandle a 3 in stock form (dont do this: BUT IF IT HAD A TURBO bulls***. BUT IF IT HAD COILOVERS IT WOLD OUTHANDLE THE MOON!), enough said. And if you dont agree, or cant see it, or haven't driven both, then whatever. I have.

Relax Dex. You are right. Both turtles compared to everything else on the road. Their both great cars. And in reality it is unfair to compare both because of their stock engines. The msp should be superior and it is but not by much.

Okay man, It's your world calm down LOL......everybody has an opinion, In my opinion the 3 handles better than a protege, that's what I am comparing it too..never driven a MSP
