I am new and confused

Hi guys,

I have just got a used P5, never have mazda before. I know i am kind of silly to ask, but i really don't know, please tell me what is MP3 and MP5 stands for? I only know they have protege, protege5 (P5) and mazdaspeed protege (MSP).

MP5 is just the another way of sayin Mazda Protege 5
MP3 is the limited edition Protege that came out in 2001 that had a few extra goodies mainly the MP3 player.

MP5 is theoretically silly, you wouldn't say mazda MP5 it's jsut a P5 or Protege5, butyea.
MP3 is the PRE-turbo MSP AKA Mazdaspeed Protege. It DID have a slightly alterred ECU and Exhaust that were good for an extra 10hp. 17" racing Hart wheels, lowered, stiffer swaybars, sideskirts, etc. It was also one of the first production vehicles to come with a MP3 player. (hence thename) and had a bazooka-type sub. Only came in a sedan, though.
