I am in need of some help....

What does it mean when I have same amounts of light blueish and black smoke come out of my exhaust? I think if I am right black is oil, and blue is???? What can be causing this? I have checked all the connections, lines, and turbo, oilpan, and it all appears to be in perfect order, what could be causing this?

On a side note does our ECU learn :wtf: ? As my idle is okay now at 8-9psi, and barely stalls anymore.

IM SORTA NERVOUS ABOUT THIS STALL THING. IMA MSP OWNER TO BE.. SOME PEOPLE SAY YOU HAVE FIXED IT? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOL MY KEY IS STUCK.. HAHA I DUNNO

Straight black smoke would be too rich, and you would notice a loss of power. White/bluish is oil.

This is happening on a MAZDASPEED Protege?

My dealers ear would burn

Hey I would get on the horn and get that Dealer by the shorthairs ASAP. These cars cost way too much for anykind of BSin around. I am only glad that my dealer rocks. I hope most of you have as good of an experience with your purchase and service.
Good luck man and I would get that thing looked at. So far I do have a very seldom clunk but it is minor and it will be resolved one way or another. But that is just one more reason I have a bad ass 75000 mile warranty with loaner car included.
I have not experienced a stall of any kind yet so fingers are crossed.

I seriously doubt that contacting the dealer is going to do any good. With your list of mods you are likely on your own. You could remove all of it, but the chances of them not being able to tell are slim. I believe that they can also download info from the computer in the car and will see that you have been running high boost.

From my experiences, blue is oil, black is fuel. I would suspect that you have broken a ring land or cracked a piston.

Good luck,

Britt

yeah, exactly, we're not talking about a stock mazdaspeed here, you had to go ahead and mod it, didnt you?

Aye, If your running higher boosts like that, your puter will learn that. The dealer can d/l that info from the puter and poof, toasted warranty.

It prolly is a bad cylinder (cracked land ring, or split piston) possible head gasket. (if ya see white smoke thats prolly it as youll burn coolant too)

Sorry bro hope ya get it fixed

This is too funny. You have a brand new $20,000 car. You raised the boost to 9psi, everyone says that this car needs more fuel to boost that high. Now, you have a ****** turbo. Guess what allstar, blue smoke is oil blowing past your turbo seals and into your intake stream. And if there is enough to see the blue smoke, heres the funny part, YOU ARE SCREWED. Trust me, I know what it looks like. Your oil seals in the turbo are probably burned up. You had better hope you can take the car back to stock without the dealer knowing. And if you were smart, you wouldn't have posted this on this forum. Do you not realize that Mazda employees browse through this site on a regular basis. Now, if one of them saw your post, this is what they now know to look for at Maryland dealers. A ** year old kid from Somewhere In the US. Lives in the zipcode *****. He was born on some date in history. Are you getting the picture here? I think you may want to go edit your personal info. Trust me, you shouldn't give up too much personal info on the web. I am living proof of that.

This is too funny! (stupid) (rofl)

Please explain to me how the car not having enough fuel and running a few extra psi will do that to the turbo???

While indeed this may be turbo damage, there is just no way a turbo can get damaged in the manner he described. There isn't enough information here to tell me what is wrong with the car, though I have my doubts about it being the turbo.

:wtf:
Why are you being so hard on the guy???
God forbid you forget to keep a reciept from an oil change or something.
Then you would be SOL, give the guy some slack.
If you ask me a warranty is just an excuse for buying a POS.
I heard those KIA's are great, there sure do have the warranty to back them up!

Higher boost = Higher temp = screwed turbo

no extra fuel = Detination = your engine be FU**ED

I'm sorry but Garrett T25 ball bearing turbo can take 9 psi.
Have you ever seen the compressor map???
Now detonation is another problem intirely, this could cause turbo damage, but I don't think its the case here.
The engine would also be hurting if this was the case.

Oh yeah these run Rich stock I forgot to mention that like we have in 3 or 4 other posts. in the 10's on the A/F stock. * or 9 PSI should be fine. Have you spiked any?? Dont't listen to JACKASS! Pull out your sparkplugs and take a look at those to see if there is any tell tale signs. After that run stock boost and see what happenes. Do u still have your cats. And if its blue then if you did something major it would be your rings. But hey if that is the case time to build it for even more boost!
