Hyphy Medalion (hahahahahahyphy)

I might buy the Tanabe super medalion exhaust from a used parts shop, but need some direction. Has anyone heard this exhaust? I want some input on the system and possibly hear or see the exhaust installed before I buy it.

i like the deep rumbly tone from the hyper and didnt want anything that would make my car sound ricey.
Any suggestions?

I have never heard of it, sounds like an ebay exhaust. i froogled it, and it is like $300 new online.

There are many threads here, even recently inthe P5 section regarding exhausts. One of them is form the last day or so, and my Racing Beat cat-back system has a video with audio in it.

When looking for an exhaust, look for the droning. Itis the sound you get on the freeway that drives you crazy.

i dont have a clip, but i can personally say that the thing sounds pretty damn good, its a little old, as they have new updated exhausts in their lineup/

the tanabe TOURING MEDALION is supposed to sound really clean, under 93DB but with a mean growl. the soundclips are on their website, I've been debatin on this exhaust to replace my HKS HiPower...its around 300 bucks tho, just for an axel back.

what kind of other exhaust components can you purchase along with the touring axle back? im pretty set on getting the touring, but im not sure if an axleback can be the sole provider of crazy hp gains..

axleback will give you crap for power, just sound. A cat back may gain you 1 or 2 Hp...if it's cold....you have to note that these things make around 97-98 whp stock, and unfortunately the FSDE doesn't take to NA mods very well (intake, exhaust, cams, etc). I think twilightprotege has 1 of the fastest NA P5's, and he's only making 140whp or so, and he's got a LOOOOOOOOT done to his car.

So, in conclusion, if you're looking for crazy power, get a turbo kit and keep it under 9psi...unless, of course, you enjoy the sound of rods crashing through the block

i agree...na sucks with these cars...but if you have the money fork over go with the MAM built fs-de block and the mam thumper..thatll give you around 350whp

thanks for all the help guys! i found an excellent used Hyper Medalion at Triple R in redondo beach. i ended up buying it!.. thank god for bargaining.

I havent installed it yet, but will post clips asap.

edit: i got a hyper medalion..not a smracing..bleh
