LMAO, I'm not sure who's the real ( ) here :D

Anyway, it's still hard to believe that your short ram could have sucked water all the way in. You said the filter is about half a foot to a foot away from the bottom of the front bumper, then your bumper is 3-4 inches off the floor. That's like 8" of water. And like vielster said, more than half the filter (if not 100%) has to be submerged in water in order for THAT MUCH water to be sucked up the tube. Assuming the filter is 6 inches tall, we're talking more than a foot of water here!

WTF happened to the turbo that was on the engine before? Since it was pulled out of a wrecked msp...........they would have had to make some modifications to get it to work without the turbo. Uhh why didnt you jsut take the money from the ins company and get a used bloack and new turbo? Somethings I jsut dont understand.....

The reason i didnt just take the money and get a turboed engine instead of working with the mazda dealer is when this all happened me and a friend where headed to austin Tx for an important job interview. i couldnt just not go to the interview cause my car was in the shop so i recieved a rental and went to Ausin for a week. while i was in austin my Father and the insurance company took care of all the fixings. (hand)
well he wanted to surprise me by getting a mazdaspeed engine because i was always talking about wanting one. well he got me one...the only thing was it didnt have a turbo. (dont know why it didnt come with the turbo)
and no ajustments had to be made to the engine, it is the same size block that i had before a fs-de 2.0 DOHC...???...
well he payed the extra money to get the engine so its all good....he is happy with it and so am i...i dont ask questions, i am just grateful that i have a car still!

yea this is dumb... your story slowly changes and more becomes available. i think you were a fool didnt see what you were driving into then just drove through it all in a panic. Because i wetn through a puddle up to my floodlights and i hit hard and coasted through it. I was scared shitless but there was nothnig i could do because it was pitch black out. I got to where i was going just rolling then got there and left my car on for like 15-20min and my cars fine. Its all how you handle stuff and i have an INJEN CAI so it right behind the floodlight.

Sounds like BS, I ran my Crown vic through more than a foot of water with a low CAI that was completely exposed to the underside of the car. And I was going pretty damn quick, it threw water like 30 feet on each side of the car. I'm not going to go into the old mustang that spent most of it's time in a foot or more of mud. It jumped the timing belt from mud getting packed in....

what was the point of paying 500 deductable if you had to pay mazda 2500 anyhow(you didn't get any "upgrade" engine sorry man)?

I thought the Mazdaspeed engine was called the Mazdaspeed engine because it used Mazdaspeed's performance camshafts, pistons, etc.? I could be wrong, but that was my understanding....

Nope, stock FS-DE with a little turbo and a remapped ECU. Oh, and the pretty plastic valve cover cover.
