The Miata burned a quart of oil and had lifter tick like a b****.

Now it sounds like it's pinging very badly at BOT (Barely Open Throttle) and between 3000-4800 RPM.

I am hoping I just got some bad gas

Filling up the oil got rid of the ticking and clapping of the lifters.


Any ideas about that horrible '"marbles in a can" sound at that specific RPM range?
