im just riding on stockers now. too lazy to get new tires for my 17's and now my brakes are squeeling. i lost the will to mod

i saw you this morning when you dropped off your sis. i was gonna come down and say hi but i was half up the stairs..hehehe...yep, i noticed you have your stockers on. Tell me about losing the will to mod...after a new windshield, multiple door dings and paint chips i said f*ck it...heck I even sold
my white Miata. i'm just tired of modding cars for now. :(

yeah i saw your p5 on the way in today. iwent to nateys and found out my brake pads may have been(definately) mis-measured and also i blew a rear endlink. FACK!!!!!!!!

mod will = gone

lolz, this is about the time that everyone stars taking the mods off of their cars and start to sell them off/part them out. Whats next on everybodys list?

A new miata is on my list. I possibly pick it up next week. Other than that I'm still eyeing an mpi tuner and quaife lsd. So what would you guys think of the miata once I get her touched up. I'm thinking black hard top with stock red paint and 16" gold rims

I am too far in it to lose the will to mod at this point. he he.

I think cars will always be a hobby and I'll always want to mod my vehicles, I just don't know if I'll get something where the aftermarket is this small again and I would end up going to the lengths that I did with this vehicle. I am going to love it when I get my car back though. I saw some pictures of my super trick, super stealth intake manifold today... Can't wait.

And Andrew, Black with Red and gold rims would be sick.

I don't think I'll ever lose the will to mod my car. If you guys have lost it, then I think it's time for a new car.
*looks out lovingly at the FC* :D
I remember, right after I put the JICs on the Protege, Julie needed the wagon, so I took the Miata up into the hills one night.
That changed my whole perspective.
Her car cornered better than mine, and it was completely stock...tires and all. I put over 1500 bucks into my suspension, and her little Roadster was quicker right out of the box. I decided then and there to quit wasting money on my Protege's suspension. The 'yata has WAY more potential(IMHO), parts are cheaper and easier to come by(for example, Civic wheels bolt right on), and you can take the top down on sunny days!
I love my P5; I still think they're the best looking wagons on the road. But for the touge, I'll be in the Miata...until the FC is set-up, at least. ;)

I modded my garage as to make it look as though my car is actually moving. That way I can feel good about the 1000s of dollars I spent on mods that are so useful when the time comes to gloat about how much money I can spend. **** driving the thing, I might scratch my brand new billion dollar paint job, or God forbid, wear some rubber off my tires. In the end I just wanna show how much more materialistic I am than everybody else, and what a consumer ***** I've been made into.

Natey, your Miata is looking good w/ those Panasports...
i don't think i will ever get tired of my 92 Miata, i just need the get the "will" to mod mood back again. Now I got rid of my other Miata maybe I will just put the time to continuing the mods for the 92 Miata. heck, i have a used parted out JRSC and Brainstorm competition bar in my garage. i just need to make time...sigh.

i guess my pads were the prototypes so rishie is replacing them with the production pads. those have alot more material on them

wouldn't that have been prudent to know BEFORE we spent an hour and a half ....

is that like going to buy a Mercedes badged as an S600, you take it home, pop the hood and see a 2.3L V6 instead of the V12 you were supposed to get... then you go back to the dealer and he tells you "well that was the prototype, but come back and we'll swap it out for the V12"

what a bunch of http://www.msprotege.com/members/KpaBap/bulls***.gif

Yo.

I'm not dead.

Work is killing me. Now they have my traveling here and there all the time. Guess that's the price you pay for moving up the corporate ladder. Between that and the GF, you guys have gotten no love from me. :(

Miss you all. Seen Roy once or twice. Maybe he's told you. I'm not sure, looks like I need to catch up on about 40 pages... He's quite the pothead now.

I'll try to check back more often. I'm actually here for at least a couple weeks. Maybe a KK meet or something? At least a drive?

I'm out of the office most of the day tomorrow, but I'll check the site tomorrow afternoon.

Lucky you said something, Roy. (uhm)

Man, I hate to say it, because Rishie is a cool guy with a ton of knowledge, but AutoRnD has been f-in' slacking lately.
1st, Ya's struts weren't tightened down properly, and were clunking like hell, until we found that the washers were missing.
then Rishie shut me down on some tire mounting when I really needed help(Julie's friend's car broke down, and she needed to get to Berkely. My car was running great, but the tires were showing cables. I figured that I could send here over there...one her way to Berserkly...and they'd throw the tires on there for me. NOPE. The tires were 185/60-14 instead of 185/70-14. That's WAY too unsafe, and those tires are for a Miata anyway (pow) . Julie's friend never made it to work that day, and I had Goodyear Tires install the damn things the next day...for less money than I usually pay Rishie anyway...AND they use the good kind of weights, not the kind that come unstuck after two weeks)
Now Roy pays top dollar for used brake pads. If he had them installed at a shop like he probably would have if we didn't help him, he would have never known the difference. You guys think AutoRnD would have contacted him to give him a refund or replacement? Fat Chance.

I think I'm over that place.

Perhaps you can send this feedback to AutoR&D. If the locals are complaining, then they gots problems to fix before word spreads around.

I've been keeping my mouth shut since I hate to talk s*** about a business, and I respect Rishie too much. But yeah, those shocks that I paid top dollar to have installed, well let's just say the workmanship was shoddy at best and my rear right shock is still clunking and clattering, I just haven't had the time to take care of it.

And, using double-sided foam tape to mount wheel weights? My tires came unbalanced about 300 yards away from the shop....

I didn't like the fact that Rishi told me I needed a specific type of tire (when I merely asked for a price on some rims. I informed him I would never put the brand of tire on my car he wanted to sell me) and that if I didn't have the tires and wheels mounted at the same time at his shop, I would lose out on the price he quoted just for the rims...I informed him I have a shop I am loyal to in Berkeley who does all my wheel/tire work. Besides, his prices are way too rich for my wallet.

Im sure others have been delt a good hand at his shop, but I don't think I'd ever spend my money there, especially after what you guys mentioned in this thread.

the pads werent used, they were prototypes straight from japan. like first of their kind, not the production model. they were rushed over so he never got a look at them and endless shaved them dow too much. the familia brakes in japan and protege brakes are totally different so all they had to go by to design them were measurments so i guess a mistake was made. hes going to swap out the prototypes for the regular production endless pads (which were made correctly) for free and he got me a discount on a new endlink.

That's cool, I hear what you're saying Roy. Like I said, I think Rishie's one of the coolest guys around, and his cars are insane!
I just wish we could count on ARD for quality control on their installs/work and sell top quality parts like the old days, that's all. It seems a little different lately, at least from where I'm sittin'.

I miss Sean.
