Hwy 9 Fun Run!

natey, I don't really wanna flog on my sister's brand new civic, nor do I want to try my luck on the great Bridgestone Potenza RE-92s

driving along doing 50 mph

Me: HEY I AM FLOORING IT!
*VROooooooooooooooooooooooooOoOoOoooooooom*

gf: Are you sure?

Me(10sec later): We're doing 55! I am still flooring it....

*Civic shifts up and down randomly a few times*

Me: wtf was that?

... that's the general driving experience so far, and what VTEC, I can't feel s*** other than that below 5k rpm there's no power and above 5k rpm redline is another 1800 rpm away. Yay for 1800rpm of 12 dead mules.

yeah the satisfaction of me bashing in some altezzas with my 4 D-Cell Maglite (a.k.a the African-American beating stick) will surely help

the Miata IS having moar problems though, now the primary cat is either clogged up or has failed, I got a code for "warm-up cat below threshold", and my alternator belt is slipping every now and then and making it sound like a POS, oh well that's what you get for buying used

time for a header, **** the cats...

well it's not the belt itself that's the problem but rather the lower alternator mount point must have been made by a disabled monkey with one nut since its not just a hole for the bolt to fit through but an elongated hole so it's like an ellipse and the lower bolt juts flops around back and forth in there and lets the belt get loose

I think a locking washer + locktite + gorilla tightening will fix this one. Can't hurt to throw in some new belts either, since they're probably like $10.

The VTEC-E for Civics (other than the SI) is some kinda fuel economy thing; not made for performance.

That's not the point. I'm sure more than one 2002 Civic is dead by now as well.
BTW: I just finally hit 30K yesterday. (woowoo)
Did you ever have any problems with your P5 Alex?

I had problems with a rattling clutch, cold start rattle too...

drive an rsx type s...you can feel the vtec...my buddy has an rsx type s w/ turbo and that ting sounds like a rocket when it hits vtec...
