wow, I can't believe the Ya'ta is no more. Sad day. Gotta say, I am surprised, and still not sure if it's for real ;)

Hope you still stick around Ya! You may not be a Mazda owner anymore but you are still welcome to hang out with us all and I encourage it.

Thanks for the offers with the axles guys, I have a shop manual but I don't have a lot of the other specialty tools that may be necessary, I need to look into it. But the new driveshafts sure are pretty!

If we can work out the schedule, you are more than welcome to bring it over to work on it. I have plenty of tools to do the job (on my car), and if I don't have it, my neighbor will.
Just bring your new parts and some beer.

Damn, three cars in a year and a half

If you really traded the Miata in for a Civic, I gotta admit that I've lost a tiny bit of respect for your opinion on cars. You could've gotten a clean, used MSP for around the same price as that generic grocery-getter.

I almost think it's a joke because Ya's parents have been contemplating and discussing the idea of getting a new car to replace his moms old portege. Although, I can VERY WELL see his reasoning, but it's a bit too sketchy all around. Although, the civac may have been purchased as a car that was neither fun to drive nor fast so that he wont be joining us up in the mountains, but instead will just get uber gas milage and be able to go from point a to point b reliably for over 200,000 miles.

vtec is over rated ive had a couple of cars w/ it and its not even that cool when you have rotary and turbo!! (hump)

A reliable Civic or a problematic MSP?

I'll bet that if this was a civic board, we'd be hearing about all the little quirks of that car instead of the MSP. The majority of Mazdaspeeds run like a top.
Let's not forget that for the year that I bought my car, JD Powers scored the 3rd gen Protege ahead of the Civic(or any other econo-car for that matter) in reliability. ;)
