Hwy 9 Fun Run!

Roy, when do you want to get together to swap the couplers? Maybe if you're gonna be in SC this weekend putting your valve cover on, I can meet you at Nates?

Holla!

Tony, I would've been going a little slower if I had my girl in the car too. ;)
Also, that would be killer to meet here. Maybe we can have a mini-BBQ or somethin'.

Actually, she was loving it! I asked her if I was scaring her, and she was like, "No, I trust you. This is fun!"

So is Royo planning on coming over Saturday?

Hey, all I need to do is remind myself that my toy is stock :)

I don't doubt the Protege's abilities, trust me, first drop of water and I'd be jumpin in the pro.

Don't get me wrong. The Miata pwn3s the Protege, but the Pro's not too bad when you consider the 80lb sub and the fact that it's a station-wagon. I was honestly surprised by it.

You could've smoked the crap out of me last night, I know. ;)

Damn, that sucks about the lifter, Probelx, maybe we could try again and all meet at Krispy Kreme next week (if the car's running right).

Natey, you are faster on high-speed smooth sweepers, I just have too much body roll coupled with somewhat small tires (195s) and on corners over 60-65 mph the car requires a lot of smoothness and it is easy to upset its stance. Whereas, your Pro just settles in very quickly.

Anyways, apples to oranges.

The Toyos like to scream like a little woman. If you were a passenger in the car you'd think that I'm constantly driving at the life or death limit, even when they're not sliding they sound like they majorly are.

lol, I thought you could hear my Paradas, but I guess your T1-S's were drowning them out. My tires were screaming last night, too.

Kinda makes me (finally) appreciate the Azenis (RTM)

It's getting annoying because I can't take a turn at any sort of speed without announcing it to everybody. And it's not like I'm drifting around every corner so the noise is justified...

Man, the T1-Ss sure seem to grip well, though.

Joo was pullin' some g's!(wrc)

EDIT: No I was serious about the Azenis. They are really nice and sticky, but they're wearing WAY too quickly. The grip is definately there, though.

Blown Head Gasket :'(

Car was all together, running well and we decided it was time to take it out of the shop and go for a drive around the block. One run at 10 psi, great (car pulls really freaking hard now, I love it)

Then pull at 12 psi, Kablow, blown head gasket.

Faulty gasket or faulty installation. Yet to be determined. We went with a rubber coated copper head gasket that was supposed to help with high horsepower applications but something ain't right. When we get the head off a OEM Mazda gasket is going on in it's place.

Sigh... I'll be driving home tonight in a borrowed car and back down here sometime next week to retrieve my car with the head back on and dyno tuning done.
