What's a good amp to get ? I like the brand Alpine, but is there something better? Are the Fosgate amps any good ?

Yes they are. xtant, zapco, orion, mmats, e.designs and ppi are also really good names.

Cool thanks. I'm thinking of getting an amp and some new front and rear speakers. Any of you guys have suggestions on what brand I should get?

Speakers: Focal, Diamond, MB Quart, Dynaudio(spendy), or Boston acoustics are all good speakers. IMO, a component set(mid + tweeter + x-over) will sound the best.

Also, most of us never replaced our rear speakers. If you send too much power to the rear of the car, it'll mess up the "sound-stage" and make it seem as if the music's coming from behind you...not good. I'd spend some extra dough on some quality front door speakers and dynamat if I were you...but it's obviously your call, bro. (drinks)

Thanks. What would you get ? I just plan to upgrade my audio (front,rear,and tweeter) and power them with a nice amp.


edit: if i dont need a rear speaker upgrade then more money for the front,tweeter, and amp.

It all depends of how much you want to spend.
I personally went with 6.5" Focal Polykevlar component speakers in the front doors and a 100wx2 Alpine amp under the passenger's seat(it's actually a 100wX4, but I only have 2 channels running). Then for the bass I bought kpaBap's Rockford stuff, and I've been really impressed with it.

I don't think I'll make it to the meet until 8 or so. should I still go to MVKK or should we just meet in the hills?

That sounds good. I dont really want bass in my car yet. I just want it really nice sound thats all. Has anyone changed there tweeters ?
