Yesterday, at Noon, The Weather Channel was saying Gainesville was going to get hit directly, and be prepared. So my wife and I drove into town, stocked up on water and canned supplies, etc. Came home, and started taping our windows up, while my neighbors looks at us like we were on crack. After we finished taping up, saw The Weather Channel stating that we were not going to get hit at all. Felt stupid for the tape, and took it down. We had clear skies last night, not a drop of rain. Oh well. Ready for the next one I guess.
My wife's grandmother and great aunt "snowbird" in Cape Coral during the winter, and we are waiting to hear if their homes got messed up. Both are on the canals.
