Have two hurricanes ever formed at the same time?

I thought that movie Perfect Storm was about that. it was based on a true story, wasn't it?

yes and the worst thing that will happen is they form into a stronger hurricane or the best is they disorganize each other prohibiting it from gaining strength and just bringing rain.

Well they wont become one big hurricane but what yusually happens to storms in that close prox. is they colide slowing eachother down to the point that they are no worse than a tropical storm.

this is ******* disgrace. this country is going down the ******* drain. dead people on sidewalks with kids playing around. people swimming in sewer. where is the army to protect them? this makes me mad.

Martial Law gives the military power to police. That has not been given and the national guard has to follow police orders and can only help the them. Either way, youve got to feel bad for these people, even the ones that are acting crazy. Thats what these circumstances will do to someone. The people are shooting at the rescue workers to get their attention to actually get rescued. There have been people stranded on rooftops for almost 4 days now. 4 days. No food, no water(clean), no signs of help other than choppers, and there only way out is to wade through diseased infested water that people have urinated, deficated and died in. People this situation is bad. Nobody can give an opinion on how people are reacting because this has never been seen before. When was the last time there has been civil unrest in a city that has been completely shut down?


New Orleans will never be the same. It is destroyed. Even once they get the water out, think of the clean up? Think of the contaminated water that is saturated into the ground. I think it will be months, if not years, that people will live there again.

I should actually rephrase my statement. They tried to declare martial law but luckily louisianas constitution didn't allow it.

Army? The army is used to fight outside threats law enforcement are supposed to protect those people in LA.

the law enforcement, local cops, also have families that they need to evacuate from the area and take care of. army and national guard are responsible for protecting the citizens whether it be inside or outside our borders.

They have a few parishes (counties) near new orleans where you have to acquire a permit to go to your house. Then the police will help you to your house so you can get whatever you want to save and then you can't return to your house for 1 month. I can't imagine abandoning all of my belongs and living in hotels or shelters or whatever for a month.

the cops dont escort you, they cant spare the men to escort everyone...

new orleans just got 2 Army Attack helicopters to help scare the looters away, fully locked and loaded and ready to blow some low down scum away,

Mayor Nagin of New Orleans also said if it comes down to u having to shot the looter, leave the body , they cant spair the man power to move it..

Looks like someone needs to read the posse comitatus act. Deploying the army to enforce law on civilians is against posse comitatus and agianst the LA constitution.

haha and 5 posts ago i was getting slammed for saying they were under martial law.

Anyway as i restated, they arent under martial law. The mayor tried to but it is agianst LA constitution. Again the arm isnt allowed to enforce law on the people because its against the posse comitatus act.

ok, the hydrolic rams on the gates to out house were bent in half, and trees were bent, but other than that we did ok, the city fair ok, main problem is no electricity and cell phone service are out.

yeah, we evacuated to Monroe Louisiana, and some asswhole kicked my sideskirt and cracked part of it, so i have to get that fixed, and from the bumper to bumper traffic rocks have chiped my bumper all up, cant repair it for a few months due to lack of money. also, turbo plans are out the window for a long time..
