HP is what in kw

Thanks jjb
Its just that the new toyota corolla sportivo came out with a 1.8-litre 2zz-GE (VVT) 6 speed with 141kw so now i will need to boost my protege to get up near that. the toyota looks s*** but go's fast my mate going to buy one have to get my protege going faster

hey dont worry about making such a huge increase in the P5 to keep up with the sportivo....i drove one when they first came out. heaps of power, but it SUCKED at using it. it only felt just quicker than my SP20.

Hi andrew got some clear side blinkers thx for your help.must go for test drive in a sportivo to compare it but will never buy one the sp20 is a much better finished car interior and exterior than it. so to get that increase in HP (what stock is about 73HP ?) you have done CAI,IK20plugs,plug leads, removed inside cat,is that it ?
have you fitted a bigger exhaust or anything else and how much have you droped it ?

what's in my sigi is all i've done...i have the eibach springs which is a drop of 1.3"....with the rear strut brace i can easily keep up in the corners with my mates in their fitted out 200sx's (S15's)...they have sticky tires, sway bars, springs and i have no issues keeping up.

working out the power increase roughly for FF cars like ours, the power the engine produces in kw at the engine is roughly the same as hp at the wheels. so going from that, i've got a 5.5kw increase at the engine. i have no other exhaust mods appart from the gutted warm up cat. i dont plan on doing any either....until a turbo set up is sitting on my credit card

later

how werer you planning to run that turbo? were you going to get an imported kit for your car, or go out and have the sucker engineered?

i'd like to see it if it was done!!

engineered. i'm not a fan of kits one little bit. they are not for me. the turbo i'll be running is a T04E "46" Trim. that's good for 309hp to the wheels at 8000rpm from my calculations. way way way to much to write, but it'll be like a totally new engine. i'm aiming for flat 12 1/4's, i should get there without any issues

309hp? geez nice work lets see that would be 230kw.. nice one... and as i remember factory was 96 Kw for the SP20/SR2 versions... thats a sure fire rex beater at least! they'd never see it coming...

seriously next time i do go up to QLD i want to see this beast, especially with the turb!!! don't you have real pain in the ass compliance stuff to get around?

if your serious about those times using the same chassis, why don't you go for rotary... i know it is a s*** load of work, but it would definently be worth it, and you could fit in with no wukking furries (except for some fun mods like making a tunnel for the gear box, and diff.. make it worth while and make it RWD, but i'm sure it would be the first 323 with RWD!!!)

oh well happy tuning

i've been contimplating the awd stuff outta the Japanese sport20 model...still thinking about that

i have some custom cams being ground at the moment which should give me a 10-20kw increase without any issues i'd say, so that'll be interesting to see how they go, and then in october i'm planning on getting the head ported and flowed...that'll be another 10-20kw increase. then i'll finally get to go out to qld raceway...my mate in a 200sx does 1:03.58 around the clubman circuit (a lot shorter than the full circuit). i'd be happy to get around 1:08 on my first go there....i'll let you know though
