IMO the MSP is a nicer all around car. Does everything pretty dam good. SRT has a much more powerful motor. Poor quality. Rent a car interior. Power isn't everything. Power doesn't get ya around the corner faster. (yippy)

The interior in the SRT-4 is not that much worse than my P5(nearly identical to MSP)

I hope that "poor quality" remark was supposed to go along with the interior statement and not the statement before it about the motor...because there is nothing about the driveline of the SRT-4 that is the least bit "poor quality"

it is true that power doesnt get you around corners, but like autobox said, the SRT-4 isnt everyones flava, and neither is taking corners fast everyone's flava...straight line performance is more than enough for most people.

Guys, Im not trying to bash the MSP...I love it and hell yeah i would have bought one if they had any left around here when I bought my P5. I think when you take a step back and look at the class these two cars are in you realize what they are supposed to be geared towards(cheap speed) and realize the SRT-4 is superior in that aspect...If mazda wanted to make a pure corner handler, they should have kept making the MP3 and not slapped an unreliable turbo system on it and put it in direct competition of faster cars(shrug)

No car company is going to allow their owners to mod the hell out of their cars and keep them warrantied. It isnt a good business move and it isnt at all practical. Trust me, alot of those guys are bullshitting you. I used to work for a dodge dealership for like 6 months when i was doing some temp work and i saw a couple guys come in with modded SVT focuses and SVT contours and they all got the same "sorry you modded your car, you are ******"

yeah, but the dealers are not ignorant to the fact that these motors have been hopped up, which is what caused the failure...fact is, dodge is really promoting this in the community and they do warranty their s*** within reason...If some guy comes in with insane mods running over 400hp and he blew his motor he's not getting a new one.

thats one dealership...there are stories here of people with stock P5s being denied warranty work based on reason other than mods...thats how bad some mazda dealers are...and Im sure some dodge(as well as all manufacturers) are that bad too.

dont ask me...perhaps the dealers in question(the ones honroing warranties on modded cars) are just ignorant anomalies amongst the rest that give the boot to modded cars(shrug)

and since so many get refused...the ones that dont stand out...

kinda like hearing positive stuff on the daily news, it stands out(lol2)

there are a few mazda dealers that honor modded msp's.........the point is ...the majority dont....and for good reason...as stated...its not good business

it all comes down to personal taste on which car is for them. both car are econo box and both have cheap interiors.

for the person who said 2 grand and a msp will be quicker is wrong. my msp had fmic, full exhaust,intake and turned the boost up to 11psi. so there is about 2 grand and it will not hang with my srt-4 stock. maybe mine was a bad one who knows. but if you spent 2 grand turned up the boost and can beat an srt-4 then your doing good. but there is only a few of you testing the limits of your car cause everybody says the engine can't take it. the srt-4 was built for power hungry people.

for about 2 grand i can probably make the srt-4 handle just as good as the msp but i wouldn't do it. i like a softer ride.

even the S/C kit? nice...yur right its not good business practice to fix modded cars, and its kind of deceptive on the owners part, but if i had my car turboed and killed something Id take it off and get it fixed under warranty for DAMN sure(lol2)

Engine management. MPNick just pulled 400 hp with his MPI tuner. Unichipped MSPs run about 250HP with exhaust and intake. Corksports got dyno charts, and I think Sonicraze has it installed. ECU+FMIC+Exhaust~=2250 and 250HP safely. Tell me thats not damn close to an SRT.

yep i had a friend with a solara and he had the full trd line...plus other mods....the regional rep asked him to show his car at one of the car shows that poped up around here in their trd booth.....his local dealer does all his work...includin installin his aftermarket s***...the rep asked dealers if they knew any customers with a nice car and his recommended him.....y u think toyota made scion

at the show I went to last week i was parked next to two xBs...the one guy asks me how much i paid for mine...i told him 13.9(thats what i paid, mind you my car has leather, sunroof/6cd, roof rack, and misc little s***)
He goes "dag yo, for $4K more you coulda got on of these"
I just turned away and tried not to laugh. He got some POS scion AUTOMATIC for $18K(shocked) and it had no options other than some cf trim...I was like, uh yeah...we know who got the better deal
