The US-spec G8 has been tested, and it's been compared to the E39 M5 as far as driving dynamics.
It hasn't been confirmed by anyone at GM, I don't think, but everyone's expecting one for '09.
My comment is based on the styling of the vehicle not the engine. Never really been a Pontiac fan.
From what I've seen it will be at the end of 08 as an option on the 09 models. Hopefully it will debate at the sametime as the supercharger option as well.

135i if thats the same motor thats in the 335i its making more power than 306
Its the same motor as the 335i and 535i. It does make more power then 300hp. I know a few of my 335i customers that have had their cars dynoed and the power at the rwhp is around 275 to 280.

yep that 135i is going to be a sweeeet deal if its in the low to mid 30k

hhmm.... ill take the sti, for practicallity. light car, ok on gas, awd, hatch, which i love...and a Japanese car, cmon guys !!! lol
the bmw i think would be a lil bit more expensive, the evo would be my second choice, g8 would be last, imagine v8 gas guzzler, considering it's almost 4000 pounds. !!!

For that price, none of the others can touch it. It does it all.
Handing? Comprable to the last Gen M5 (needless to say it can handle)
Interior (very nicely done thanks to its Aussy roots. Probably on the bimmer has better interior quality)
Size? Enough room to ferry around family in comfort
Styling? Understaded and handsome with a whiff of testorterone.
Performance? 350+ horses with many more just waiting to be unlocked
Price? TKO! Not even a contest. Why I would pay 6K more for an Sti is beyond me.
Aftermarket? Strap on a supercharger and have all the other cars on that list eating your dust.......and it STILL undercuts them in price!

Do software on the S60 R and it would be faster then the G8. The S60 R would eat the G8 in the corners.
The S60 R is going to be a rare car since its or was a low production model. I have a feeling G8s and 1 series are going to be everywhere in my area. Hell I see a ton of EVOs and STi around here.

with all the BMW options and packages for the 135i, you'll be lucky if you get something you want for under $40K.
