How to update software to prepare for Apple CarPlay? 2016 Mazda3

Hi, I'm new to Mazda3s and I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a reliable guide on how to update the software to prepare my car for Apple CarPlay. Any advice would be great. I recently purchased a 2016 Mazda3 Touring Hatchback. Thanks!
