HOW TO: Restore hazed headlights

I'm probably gunna have to give this a shot too. Mine aren't so much oxidized, they look and feel like they have been sandblasted from 88,000 miles of highway driving.......

Definitely on my to-do list. I make probably two dozen 300+ mile trips each year and it's really beginning to show.

subbin, I bought these buffer pads from an autozone that have a light abrasive on it, you use it with a screw gun. I tried them shortly and they didn't seem to work very well so I will have to try this. Thanks for the idea! (cool)

I am not gonna even read this s***, because it sounds stupid talking about using sandpaper on your lights. I will will tell you what works though is mothers wax or that other m- wax. works really well to take out the hazy s***.

If polish alone works for you, more power to you. Didnt work for me.

that plasticx stuff blows....it might work for a car that is nearly new, but you have to use something more abrasive to get 5 yer old, 87k mile lenses clean.

Is that the one where you attach the pads to a drill?Wasted ten bucks at Pepboys on that s***!(notcool)

Yes, this is on my to-do list also, haha!

I used the 2000 grit wet sanded it gently. Did as the instructions were told.

I got a lot of the nasty stuff out, but now I am left with slight scratch marks all over. It is only noticeable when I have my lights on though. Kinda makes it look blurry

Anyone get the same thing? Or did I do something wrong. Can I fix this?

my lights are horrible gonna have to give this a try. tried several different products for headlights with no luck. tried the toothpaste thing didn't work, and metal polish didn't work either tried using some autosol that i have for doing my wheels.

you dont need to go through all this trouble....just grab a bottle of 3m medium duty rubbing compound from autozone and a soft cloth and polish away....done it on both of our pro's and it comes out flawless :)
