Nice work on everyone's painted rims.
Thanks to this thread I decided to give up the bronze/polished rim look and go for flat black.
There was no clearcoat before and no primer was needed. The spokes themselves were a bit rough in texture, but obviously the polished lip was smooth.
No clearcoat afterwards either (brakedust eats through that).
I'm glad to say that after a few weeks the paint is holding nicely on the polish lip.
