what exactly does "recirculate" mean, in terms of a BOV, and how do you do it?

i used to run this setup before i relocated my maf.

bacically when the bov is recirculated you are running bov only. this is the only way you can run a bov only without recloating the maf (unless you have a standalone that is tuned for this).

you recirculate the air being vented from the bov back into the intake, where a bpv would go back into. it bacically acts as a bpv.

i used some one inch hose and a couple of elbows and clamps.

check the picture, you can see how i did it.

tell me if did it right all i have is one hose running from the manifold to the bov, and then the bov is connected to the intake with an elbow. quik question , you can here the bov wen using this setup right?

by hose you mean vacum hose from the intake mani, correct? if so yes that is right.

as for how it connects to the intake, its all how you want to set it up. as long as it is sealed good and as free flowing as you can get it, then it should work.

if the recirculation tubing and elbows are too small, you will get turkey, so make sure you use around 1 inch tubing and elbows.

as for the sound, it all depends on what bov you are using and how free flowing your recirculation tubing is. its going to sound good, not that loud but you can deffinately scare small children on the sidewalks with it.(idhitit)

good luck

thanks and 1 more question, i just took it for a drive and did not hear anything. i have the bov(greddy type s) at the a really soft setting, is that bad? also wat do you mean by turkey?

first off, what is your setup??? give me a list of your mods

second, have you recirculated it yet?

third, turkey is used to describe the noteable "gobble" made from the bpv or bov. its not really a good thing.

i can give you quite a few reasons on why you are not hearing your bov, but i must first know what your doing.

ok here it is i have the one hose frum the manifold( vac line) going into the bov, then i have the bov connected to the intake. give me a second i will go take some pics

first problem is that you are using the stock plastic piping. using a bpv is alot easier that trying to recirculate the bov for your situation. do yourself a favor and get some hardpipes.

now if you still want to give this set up a shot, the first problem is that the vaccum line is on the wrong nipple on the bov.

second problem is that the setup is backwards.

it should go like this:

(air flow starts here) intercooler piping attatched to bottom of bov then the venting port of the bov should be going into the intake.

ok i finally got wat everyone has been trying to tell me. here it is
i have one hose running from the manifold which goes to my boost controller, then to my WGA. I then tapped my brake booster line and T'd it off and ran a single line to my BOV. my BOV is connected to my hot pipe, and the part of the BOV that vents is going into the intake pipe. now the only thing is i still do not here anything. so here come the questions. do hardpipes really make that big of a difference? also the hose that goes from the BOV where it vents, does it go inside the vent, or does the vent go inside the hose? and last but not least, where can i find some cheap hardpipes, and wat exactly is cheap for sum hardpipes. thanks

ok first off, did you put the vaccum hose on thr correct nipple of the bov?
it should be on the nipple that is on the purple part of the bov, not the one that is angled down.

make sure all you connections are tight. if you still are not hearing the dump, the bov may not be opening all the way. what you can do is take off the top part of the bov (the purple part) by unscrewing all the little allen bolts that go around it. there are 2 springs inside and you can take out either one of them, it dosent matter. then put the bov back the same way you took it apart. this will aloow the bov to open.

IMO you should put your stock bpv back on. this setup that you have is "ghetto" and you car will perform better if you change it back to stock.

if you want to hear the dump that badly, what you can do is get an AEM or Injen intake and with the stock bpv, you will be able to hear it, trust me.

as for hardpipes
turbohoses.com has some great ones http://www.turbohoses.com/MSP.htm

or if you want to do a little more work for less $, you can get some "do it yourself" aluminum piping, like from cxracing.com
