Hey guys, tomorrow I am going to be painting my calipers and placing new mudflaps on my mazda 3 4 door. I was wondering if there was any how-to, pictures, or opinions on how to properly jack up the mazda 3. I have done it before to do brakes, but I know I havent done it right and I would like to start doing it the correct way =]. Please help! Thanks, Ryan

I will do that, but I'm assuming it will just give me the emergency jack points and I am going to need more than those because I need to be able to jack the car up and have jack stands at the same time. But I will look at it.

The effing "Emergency" jack points are no diferent when you are doing routine jacking or when you are in an emergency, trying to change a tire while being mauled by a bear.

Do the emergency jack points have room for a floor jack and jack stands? Cause I assumed that it didnt.

Guys you are missing Ryan's point. If you wanted to properly jack up the front and/or rear of the car and place the jack-stands at the jack-points on the sub-frame, how would one go about that, since there's not any real cross-member to place the floor jack under the front of the car and really should not use the rear axle member without out possibly throwing the rear alignment off?

the way i do it, is i jack up one side from the middle and put the jack stands on it, then i do the same to the other side. the metal bead that is running the length of the car is a strength point.

It's better to not support a vehicle for any extended amount of time (more than a few days) by the pinch welds where the emergency jack locations are. You'll just bend them up more than they need to be. I jack the car up from the pinch weld and get the jack stands under the subframe in the front and either under the rear subframe or rear control arms in the rear depending on what area is being worked on. Just don't put it under anything that will bend easily or has any lines running around it that could get pinched.
