how to pop the trunk?

Hi everyone, soon ill instal an alarm system on my protege and i have the fonction to pop the trunk. I need something to do this ? a motor or something can anybody help me please, cause i think it would be really usefull

where ever you buy the alarm from, they should have an option or product for that.

yeah for 95$ they are crazy ... ivx heard of 30$ i can instal this by my self and the alarm guy will do the wiring ... i just wanana know where ill fin this

no, no proteges did but you can probably find an aftermarket one fairly easy. I am pretty sure they are universal.

I dont know about the universal ones, but I used the trunk pop from a old ford taurus. I made it work and it worked great. i never had any problem with shorts or fires. You must had some crap wiring if it was causing fires. I wired mine with a relay and a fuse.
