how to install coilovers

step one
rent a spring compressor, step two: visit the Illinois section of the forum :)
Nrrfrogman put a set of tein springs on his car, I assume it would be similar to install these

yeah ive done these..the rear ones are a b****..cause u have to basically take apart the whole trunk area..but id be up for helpin i love the north side ..i used to live in logan square
 
nice pics pirana. do you need to replace the shocks and struts or can you just use the stock ones? and if you do use stock ones what kind of drop could you get without blowin 'em. i also noticed that you had to do some cutting, can you change it back to stock for warranty purposes if needed.

you can use the factory struts. If you run the lowest setting, you will blow the struts, but that will actually will make the car ride better since some of the pressure will be released. I ran my P5 4" lower and they released some fluid about 500 miles. Before that they were bouncie, after that it ran smooth. You do have to cut the bump stops, but if you need to return to stock is no problem. The bump stops will be hidden from view by the dust boot cover. I did sell the P5 in stock form and it rode pretty well afterwards.

cool now that i got the skunk 2's on there, i should of done this before i put them on but... what kind of struts/shocks should i put on there with them. im worried about them blowing. also when i hit some bumps there is a thumping noise and i dont think its the tires hitting the car. can anyone help out?
