How to install CAI on the 07' MS3

I am thinking to get a MAZDASPEED CAI, but Im worry that i cannot install it by my self. Is it really difficult? does someone have picture for the whole process of installation?

BTW, have someone install it already? is it really have big difference?

I havent done it on this car yet but It cant be that hard.Im thinking all you would have to do is remove everything from the TB back (ie get rid of the stock intake).Then the new intake should go in its place and Im sure there will be a few brackets to bolt it down.You will have to switch over the MAF sensor to the new intake but Im sure its only 2 screws.Dont take it to mazda and have them do it for you,Its a waste of money that you can use to get a new midpipe or something.

It is not hard if you have some basic tools and follow the instructions. You will need jack stands or ramps. Screw drivers, a few metric wreches, and some patience.

Lots of members here have installed it themselves. Do a search and you will find it. It is definitly worth it, lots more shove.

I would think that it shouldnt but who knows..

if you have a warranty issue and aren't sure, just switch it back. The hard part is getting everything lined up with the CAI. The stock airbox looks pretty easy to put back in. Other than removing the splash shield from behind the fog light, no one would be the wiser. I *doubt* the service tech is going to look for that to be there.

No. But it does have a splash shield and it pretty much encapsulated within the fender. You'd have to seriously drive in water 2 feet deep.

I've had work done with my non mazda branded intake installed, don't worry about it. Most intakes are the same except where they curve and their length.

My dealer said the only way self instal would void anything is if you installed in such a way that resulted in damage to the car.

Obvioulsy it would be pretty hard to do that but I suppose if you put it on and the filter fell off and the engine took a s*** its on you. If some one is to dumb to install this then they shouldnt buy it in the first place.

Even if your dealer puts it in who is going to clean your filter? Pay them a couple hundred in labor to do it for you? You need to learn to do this so you can do proper maintenance on it later.
