does anyone have a how-to for installing a system?

i have a Pioneer Z1, two JL amps(one 300/4 and 500/1,) (4) infiniti kappa door speakers and i want to know if i can still use my Factory MS3 Sport tweeters(with stock crossovers) or will putting them to the amp blow them?

im going with a 4 gauge install kit but what other parts like ANL fuses and stuff i need?

help please

What specifically do you need help with? Do you have Bose or non-Bose system? Do you have component or coaxial Kappas?

what parts i need to hood the system up.

i have the Sport, none blose, and coax kappa. i want to use my stock tweeters and turn the kappas into compo.

Depends on what your install kit comes with. Most have the fuse, typically an 80A AGU. ANL are usually for higher capacity (wattage), 0 or 2 Gauge installs. an 80A AGU with 4 gauge wire is fine. Most kits DO NOT come with a fused distribution block though, to split the signal between amps from the 4 gauge wire. You definitely need this to protect the short terminal wires to the amp and decrease risk of fire if something goes wrong. Typically the gauge of wire drops down at these connections as well (ie. 4 to 8 gauge), which also is a reason that the fuses are required. A ground d-block is optional, you could just ground each amp individually to the same point. I personally have two 8 gauge wires into a d-block (non-fused), then 4 gauge to my ground point. Other than that, just typical RCA's (3 total: 1 for sub, 1 for fronts, 1 for rears with front/rear hooked to the 4-channel, or you could run 2 if the 4-cahnnel has a line-out, but you will not be able to adjust subwoofer independently), speaker wire, turn-on lead, grommet (I used one already there), flex loom tubing (optional), battery terminal connection (kit may come with this). The amp should not blow the tweeter, but if you have coaxials, you realize you are running 2 different types of tweeter at the same time, which may affect the sound adversely. How do you plan on turning coaxials into components?

sorry, thats not what i meant to say. just meant to say, im going to keep the factory tweeters and crossover to have hooked up.

im giong to have someone hook it up for me and he said keeping the factory tweeters for usage will be fine

Ive done quite a few stereo installs in my day. Being that you have 2 amps, i would go with a 0 gauge kit. A capacitor probably wouldnt hurt either. I got my wiring kit from ebay, came with all top notch parts. The kit is made by scosche. Came with a nice distribution block and wires. I ran 0 gauge down the passenger side right to the dist. block, and split 4 gauge to each of my amps. I have plenty of pics if you would like to see. Remove the glove box and you will see a nice big grommet that penetrates the firewall. Make sure you dont run the power wire and the signal wires next to each other, that is crucial. Send me a PM if you need more info, or if you want to see some of my pics.

Also- Being that the back seats fold down, and the carpet zippers up on both sides; it makes a perfect spot to mount the amps and run the wires underneath. I ran all of my wires under the carpet and popped them up right where the terminals where on the amp. Makes for an extremely clean installation. Just a bit of advice...

Personally, I'd never run anything other than a stock signal to any OEM speakers. It would probably be fine for a short time, but you'd be better to just set up the wiring to include an aftermarket tweeter later down the line.
