How To: Ebay FMIC

a possible stupid question but are the seals the same thing as the turbo gaskets, like the gaskets for the different parts of the turbo? because I had an exhaust leak a while back on my first msp because the turbo gaskets were bad and mazda just fixed it and replaced them, now I have heard of someone on the forums rebuilding the turbos, I forget who it was though, but ya generally from what I have heard they are un-rebuildable but there was one guy that was doing it.. just can't remember who, I'm sure there are a few guys who know who I am talking about

MPNick?

yeah, thats the impression I got from people saying they got them rebuilt, but the price was enough to mine as well just get a disco.. should just try to find a used one with low miles on it for relatively cheap if you want.. just have to jump on it fast, but you might end up waiting for a little bit

Yea i know bro. Idk what to do. Sucks cuz the car is up for sale.would be nice if I was employed because I would have just sold the rest of the upgrades and traded the car in.cheapest place for a disco potato? Is it direct bolt on to my ghl down pipe which is bolted to the stock t25 turbo?

I placed a rubber cap on my valve cover since I sold my injen Cold air intake. Would the valve cover breather being capped off cause oil blow by?I just want to ask questions before I go crazy looking for a replacement.

I wouldnt cap it off...Go to the autopart store and get a breather filter, its all you need.

Yea I know. It's just that I didn't have anything to place on it so like a dumb ass,I cap it off. Would you guys say that this turbo would fit perfectly and bolt onto a ghl down pipe? It's a gt25 internal wastegate, oil and coolant cooled

you sure your seals are bad? perhaps this is due to you blocking off that breather?

That's what I'm thinking bro. My girlfriend has the car since she is at a job training. As soon as she gets here soon,I will take the cap off and try it under boost and see what happens. It was perfectly fine to then leak .I don't get It. I understand that it's a 8yr old turbo but it only has 40k miles.weird. Well I am wondering if I can use one of those turbos^^ since they come with 1yr warranty and are less then $300 shipped.

I'd unblock the breather and see if that fixes it...

And chances are that turbo is not going to be a direct swap but no one will stop you from trying lol

Lol bro I hear you. Beats paying 1k+. Plus it has warranty. I think it should fit. I will look at my ghl down pipe and see if it's a 5 bolt. I honestly think that the turbo will fit perfectly or with very little mod

doesnt look like it will fit....you'd need a custom DP

Why would u say that? Looks 5 bolt and the same to me. I have the ghl bolted on my stock t25 turbo with no issues. So it is 5 bolt and should fit the turbo that I posted pictures of.Or do u see something that I don't see?

yes, its 5 bolt but a completely different bolt pattern.

I wonder if I could call them and maybe get the correct bolt pattern.I'm sure they can get it done. Well hopefully it's the cap breather and not the turbo. I'll keep you guys updated.

you'd have a better chances of having a new downpipe flange welded onto the GHL than anything...

Hmmm.that will work also. So cut the flange and reweld the proper flange and thats it. I just sent them a message to see if they carry different 5 bolt turbos.
