If you press "I" in menu, and then select "about" you get map version as picture in the link. So, seems there is no way to check map version on the navigation system itself? At least not on a 2016.5 CX-5?
Thanks. Unfortunately mine does not show the map version. Strange. If you press "I" in menu, and then select "about" you get map version as picture in the link.
Thank you. Just put it back in today. Will pull it out again, in the next couple of days, to check it.Don't go thru Mazda Toolbox.
Plug it in as a SD card. Open the folder... follow my instructions (post #12).

I just checked my car (2017 M6), and the map version does not show on the screen either. Lots of other crap, but not the map version. If you press "I" in menu, and then select "about" you get map version as picture in the link.
Exactly what I went thru also with the prev-gen system.I just checked my car (2017 M6), and the map version does not show on the screen either. Lots of other crap, but not the map version.
More like every six months or so.Now we know ver.02/2023 has the newest map data.
Mazda seems to release new map every 18mons or so.
Yah, just don't understand why the original owner would never update the system. They had three years to do it for free.It makes sense for a 16.5 model.
My '14 had 2013 map.
My '22 came with 2019 map.
