I just finished reading all the posts on this thread. I think I'm going to go ahead and do this.
I had the joep mbc and fcd on for more than a year. But the last few months got to the point where I wanted to sell the car. I would get fuel cut constantly, major hesitation at 5psi, even after lowering the boost to 8psi. So, I took off the mbc and fcd. Right now, stock (no mbc, or fcd) I run about 7.5-8psi with a 1-1.5spi spike. I want to get back to 10psi, but holding steady this time. I have all the supporting mods, except the afc.
btw... the car feels awesome without the mbc and fcd.
