Thank you every one for the very informative replies. I can't remember just how deep the water was when I drove through a flooded road but I'm going to suggest differential fluid change at my next service just in case.

The time to change it would be NOW especially if it's never been changed. May not want to postpone it and allow water to pit the bearings while waiting for the next service. JMO
