Since I dont have the luxury of having a shop with a dyno near by I was wondering how much HP/TQ I am putting out to the wheels? Sorry if this seems noobish but I would really like to know

Mods I have
race pipe and from there its 3 inch piping all the way to the exhaust
PG TIP
PG SRI
forge bpv

and thats it.

Yeah, it seems noobish but, the truth is, nobody can answer you, every car is different.

You can buy something of a dyno replacement in a DashHawk or G-tech. This'll ballpark your, net of aero losses, power output.

You can also do a time/distance run with a stopwatch and compare before and after mods. That'll tell you if you're making progress or not.

I'll guide you, with your mods, you should be able to hit about 8 sec. 60 to 105 mph. If you get a rolling start in third and hit the button just as you touch 60 and speed shift 3-4 and 4-5, with about 5500 as max rpm, that should get you maybe even a touch under 8.

^ alright thank you for that advice

Any one have similar mods and has dyno'd their car?

With those mods, you'll only make like 15-20whp more than whatever you baseline stock then your stock TMIC heatsoaks.

^^ LMFAO!

I just realized what your Username is! lol ahhh feels good to hear tagalog or see it again..

^ ok.. yeah up here it sucks man! I live in a city where the population is 36000 people and is really behind! They don't even have a jack in the box up here or a red lobster or hollister clothing store! but yeah...

me=NOOB! =)

and people have the nerve to say 'why not minot' lol (screwy)

I dyno'd at 274 with my current mods minus the TIP. So basically the same as you but with an intercooler. My run was on a mustang dyno but you are probably around 255 if a stock run is 230ish.

+1. Good advice.

Absolute dyno numbers are meaningless. What matters is that your hp and torque, however it is measured, are improving with each mod on your car under the same operating conditions. It's best to get some type of instrument and see if you are getting quicker or slower with your mods. Hp and torque numbers, whether generated on a chassis dyno, or with an accelerometer or other device are tuning tools. And perhaps the best tool is getting some sense of whether you are raising the hp and torque numbers all across the power band from 3,000 to 5,500-5,800, or whether you are just getting a peaky power band. I'd rather have 10 hp/10lbs less peak absolute and have it come in earlier and stay high throughout the band.

Guys using absolute hp and torque numbers for bragging rights are missing the point, IMO.

well spoken by few members in here...A typical stock ms3 will dyno around 230...now theres different dynos..different cars..different temp. changes and what not..sometimes a stock speed3 might claim 215 whp in someones tune shop..then couple miles down the road on another dyno some guys stock speed 3 ran 240 whp....but going that it has 263 claimed bhp..and then you have the obvious drivetrain loss AND from what I have "usually seen"...230 ish is your typical whp for stock ms3..so with your current mods..I would say 250-mayyyybe to 260 whp...so thats about as close as a assessment I can make on your car. And yes once again its not about peak numbers...having a strong linear hp-tq curves is what is most important. Getting that power early on and keeping it is whats gonna give you better track times and make you feel your going faster in leyman terms..and ofcourse thats kinda of the point..I know I sure as heck dont add mods to my car to make it slower! lol. happy tuning! :)

because Its freezin that's the reason!

Hey man "Only the best come north"

But there maybe some dyno sheets for a stocker in the MS3 Welcome Area of the forums. There are for most of the sub sections on the forum. It will give you a rough est., then you can figure in your mods.

Oh and there is a Dyno in either Grand Forks, or Fargo. I forgot which one, it's been a while since I was up there.
